Officers need hugs, too. For that matter everyone needs a hug. After an interfaith prayer service in downtown Dallas officers are asked to line up outside. The are shown love by the people that were in the prayer service showing their support by giving hugs to the officers. I don’t know about you but I love a good hug.
So why was there a sniper in a parking garage take shots at police officers?
This incident was spurred on by incidents that occurred in Louisiana and Minnesota that involved two African-American men being shot by officers.
In Louisiana, Alton Sterling was shot by officers after a homeless man made a call to 911. Alton Sterling also called “The CD Man” was selling CD’s outside of a convenience store. The homeless man approached Alton and asked for money. Alton told him to go away and showed him his gun. The homeless man called 911 to report that someone was “brandishing a gun”.
Officers approached Alton and then on the videos a single pop was heard. The next thing that is heard is someone yells to “Hit the ground.” This is done as one of the officers pins Alton to the hood of the car. Then two more pops are heard. Obviously incident is under review. Link below:

In Minnesota, Philando Castile was shot during a traffic stop near St. Paul Minnesota. According to Castile’s girlfriend Diamond Reynolds, Castile announced during the traffic stop that he had a permit to carry a gun and he was at the time.
The officer, Jeronimo Yanez, approached the driver side of the car. When Castile reached for his wallet that is when Castile was shot by the officer. Link below:
Micah Johnson is the name of the gunman who killed five police officers at a Dallas protests. It is stated that this shooting of police officers was sparked by police shootings of black men in Louisiana and Minnesota. He was described by some people as a “loner.”
