There are many reasons why, including the preservation of free trade, the continual pipeline of cheap labor coming into America in the form of illegal immigration, the ongoing transfer of wealth from the middle class to the globalists and finally, the imposition of climate change initiatives that will make a serf out of every American.
Trump represents a resurgence in nationalism which means that American exemplerance can be re-established. This also means that the standard of living of the middle class will once again rise, as well as religiosity, morality and self-determination (i.e. freedom).
The opposing philosophy, globalism, is winning. Trump and his millions of followers threaten encroaching globalism.
