This underwater pic of the Fuddy Caravan presents another important point I feel. If you look at the propeller you see one propeller blade pointing up in feather(A propeller condition similar to knife edge for reduced drag). The other propeller blade is bent rearward, this indicates that it was in a position other than feather when the aircraft hit the water. Possible the engine was running and the blade took the full force of the impact with the water, other words prop blade not in feather. I have talked with pilots that flew aircraft with this engine, they say as soon as you shut the fuel off the propeller goes into feather. With an engine failure all three propeller blades should have been feathered.
Another important point is that you can see the Makani Kai blue script on the side of the forward fuselage. The should be the same as the recovered aircraft on the barge.
