CNN ran a poll of first and second place finishes to see the depth of support in case some candidates will be dropping out of the race. Curently in the first place finishes Trump leads with 11%: Trump-first place with 24% and Bush is second with 13%.
Next place asked for your second place candidate. Trump was ahead again with 14 and Bush second with 10.
So, when you gauge the depth of support: first and second place finishes, Trump is first with 38% (24+14) and Bush is second with 23% (13 and 10).
We will have to see how the latest immigration plan by Trump influenced the overall support. I believe that majority of voters and particularly Republican voters will support the plan as it will lead to more jobs and better wages for American workers, however we will have to wait and see
