Do Obama & Holder Deserve Impeachment More Than Nixon Did?

Many more actors will fall because of this scandal.

I am a direct decendant of one of the 3 republican Comgressional leaders that went to meet with Nixon the evening before he resigned. Many may not kow this, but these 3 went to him (each party line supporters of Nixon, even helped him get elected) and told him he would be impeached, voting starts in the House tomorrow and that is just how it is going to be. Then the President asked each one how they were going to vote. Each one, including my ‘direct decendant’ sataed that when it was time for them to cast their vote, theirs would be ‘aye’, which means YES for impeachment.

I am so glad this article has arrisen. I have thought this many times that compared to what is going on with this president and his predecsor, Nixon is a choir boy. In my close family members memoirs he wrote on how he made the final decision that his colleagues were right and how he could justify voting against HIS President to impeach him. To paraphrase, it was something like, “In the end, I went back to the origanal founding principals of our country and it dawned on me that getting back to basics, the supreme law of the land is our U.S. Constitution. And no man, even the President is above this law of the land.” So, in the end, this is how he made peace with his decision and it was the right one. I am not bragging about my family member here. BY THE WAY, there were 3 of them that went to Nixon…a good google search will get you the names.

Anyway, not bragging just wondering how our current Congress gets off turning blind eye to OBVIOUS obstruction of justice and our Constitution!!!! When we have prededence of what we should do to a President that step outside the lines?? When in hindsight, what Nixon did compared to the current look like a J-walking violation?????? This family member is spinning out of control in his grave!!!!!!!!! Were he alive, he would probably be on their hit list because he would not be quiet and he would still command respect to many in R AND D party…whats left of their its real core. He would be heard much to their disliking, but back to reality, he is not cryogenically frozen. One could read what was writen about him and try to learn (hint hint CONGRESS!!) what it si like to be a real servant to the people and gaurdian of the Constitution. One of the true Statesman though, when there were any. Back in, I think, 2003 he was one of 10 to ever receive the Congressional Distinguished Service Medal. Anyway I am done. Thanks for writing this, it is long overdue.

I disliked Nixon with a passion. I considered him the worst criminal that had ever been in the White House. I thought that he alone had done unforgivable things to try to destroy America and American values.
And then came Obama. This guy makes Nixon look like a patriot. Impeachment is way too good for Obama and I hope he gets the opportunity to pay for all his crimes.

Dear Nonsense Anonymous 9:17 – I would guess that the US border agent that was shot and killed by Fast and Furious weapons felt more than threatened. So, according to you what actually happened was that lower level ATF dudes, without oversight or approval, directed the sale and then let thousands of weapons flow unimpeded across the border into the hands of violent Mexican gangs. That sir, is an act of war – with the net result being the deaths of hundreds of innocents. And you postulate that all this occurred and no one in the White House knew about it? If you theory about only low-level ATF dudes being involved is correct, then why would Obama invoke executive privilege to try to protect those responsible? They don’t work in the White House – do they? Contrary to your opinion it certainly appears that the line of responsibility for the Fast and Furious boondoggle goes all the way up to the Oval Office.
What I had heard is that the Congressional Committee has severely limited their investigation to only those documents related to the direct lies told by Holder to that committee, and the retracted memo filled with lies and disinformation submitted to them that was later disavowed by the Department of Justice. Of course, two rats like Obama and Holder will use every means to protect their sorry asses – but in the end the truth will come out. God willing that will be sooner rather than later.
