Paul Kengor, interviewed on his new book The Communist. Frank Marshall Davis: The Untold Story of Barack Obama’s Mentor, by Frontpage states:
Mentors matter. Any study of any president starts with mentors. We all know that. And yet, why have we ignored this mentor to this particular president? Well, the answer is clear from my book: Because no president in all of American history has ever had a mentor as radical as Frank Marshall Davis. No president—ever—has had a mentor who was a literal card-carrying member of the Communist Party. This obviously ought to merit our attention. My book provides that attention. It’s scandalous that it would take four years into Obama’s presidency for a book like this to be published. It’s a sign of the woeful liberal bias by this nation’s “journalists” and “biographers.”
It seems as if we are left with two choices: Either we can assume Mr. Kengor’s book is full of lies or that our president is indeed a very strange duck, one that doesn’t quack, at least like normal ducks. Regardless which is the case, the mainstream media should be all over this book and topic. As Mr. Kengor pointed out in his interview, the media should have written a similar book four years before his.
The media had no interest in Obama’s past, sensing it did not hold the narrative he was claiming and they were supporting. Kengor’s book will not energize their interests in these topics. While they may not have all the details Kengor presented, I suspect they know his accounting is pretty accurate. Just as they scrupulously refused to investigate these types of issues four years ago, they dare not now. Exposure of Obama’s past would be devastating for their candidate and whatever is left of their own reputations. This video by Mr. Kengor provides an overview of what is in the book:

Clearly Mr. Kengor’s accusations/findings are shocking. Because they are so “out there” (how Obamabots will characterize them), they should be easily disproven if they are false. Will the press investigate this story? We shall see, but I believe I already know the answer.
Mr. Kengor has done original research to come up with his claims. He is an academic, so one presumes that he has the documentation he claims to back up his assertions. I suspect the press cannot afford to touch this book because it means the assertions go global. If they pursue it and cannot disprove it, then what do they do — apologize to the American people?
It should be noted that several others claim Frank Marshall Davis had a much closer relationship with Obama and his mother than Mr. Kengor points out, at least in the interview referred to above. I have not read the book and have no intention to do so, but would love to hear from any readers who have.
