“The future must not be determined by those who insult the prophet of Islam.” – Unnamed Zealot
That unnamed zealot? President Obama.
So guess which world leader said, “The future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam” at the UN this morning.
That’s right.
RT @radleybalko Pls tell me he didn’t say this RT @tobyharnden Obama: “The future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam”
Yes, he said it. He said, “the future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam” during his speech to the United Nations today.
Read President Obama’s speech before the United Nations General Assembly, as prepared nyti.ms/QS1QNl
From the text of the speech via The New York Times:
The future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam. Yet to be credible, those who condemn that slander must also condemn the hate we see when the image of Jesus Christ is desecrated, churches are destroyed, or the Holocaust is denied. Let us condemn incitement against Sufi Muslims, and Shiite pilgrims. It is time to heed the words of Gandhi: “Intolerance is itself a form of violence and an obstacle to the growth of a true democratic spirit.” Together, we must work towards a world where we are strengthened by our differences, and not defined by them. That is what America embodies, and that is the vision we will support.
Eh, to be credible or something we have to kinda sorta say stuff about the desecration of Jesus. But, you know. Whatever. The prophet!!!111
