The Material Girl asked during Saturday night’s performance: “Who’s registered to vote?” She added: “I don’t care who you vote for as long as you vote for Obama.” Drawing boos in touting Obama over Republican Mitt Romney, Madonna followed: “Seriously, I don’t care who you vote for … Do not take this privilege for granted. Go vote.”

  I heard that in the KJV there was some passage that referred to “six hundred, threescore, and six”, and just like some other minor passages that have be grossly over-sold, it probably does not mean much. I do pretty much buy the notion that “evil” exists (and so does stupidity) but I’m not sure I buy the notion that any one person is totally evil nor totally “good” (whatever those are). The Christian deity called Satan, appears to be some embodiment of ostracism-of-evil but that theological model does not seem to work very well in practical terms.
  The other postings that claim 666 represents the numerology of Nero, are doubful: his name was not “Cesar Nero” it was Gaius Claudius Nero.
  Personally I doubt the thing about “man playing God” somehow being an inherently evil thing, since according to the scriptural legends, man was made in the image of God, and God Himself, also “Plays God” if you believe the verses. Nobody seems to condem Him for that.
  And this Satan character: you have to admire him to some extent since he is allegedly immortal and God has never managed to destroy him. So either Satan is a God, or God approves of the existence of Satan. Both arguments of course bring up some other rather unpopular questions and conclusions.

  Actually, there’s a whole story to this.

  Jesus once was on a holiday and stayed in room 664 on the 13th floor of the Babel Hotel.

  His next door neighbor, Gary the Golden Garden Gnome, who stayed in 666, always had the nice parties with girls and champagne à gogo.

  Jesus was jealous of this because he never had a girlfriend, and decided that Gary would from then on be known as the evil one, from room 666.

  Later on Jesus did have a girlfriend, Mary Magdalene, but then the damage already was done and 666 became known as the epitome of evil.

  If you look at the name “Cesar Nero” in Hebrew you will see that it adds up to six hundred and sixty six. But Cesar Nero, after living a life of persecuting Jesus died and went to the abyss. The revived Roman Empire will have a 6th Cesar who will be one with Satan and will suffer a fatal wound. Then the spirit of Cesar Nero will enter into him and he will be resuscitated and became the anti-christ, the seventh cesar. This also explains why he is referred to the “beast that came out of the sea” because the abyss is in the sea.

  It is Hebrew numerology for Caesar Nero. This is thought to be the ‘Beast’ in Revelations who carried this number.

  Other than that, it doesn’t have any meaning. There used to be a bus route number 666 in London. Does that mean everyone who travelled on that bus was evil? The bus route was withdrawn in 1962. 1+9+6+2 = 18 = 3×6; does that mean that London Transport, who withdrew the route, were evil?

  The Bible doesn’t mention buses anywhere, so any such machine must be an invention of the Devil… etc., etc.

  No, Numbers had specific meanings to the Jews in the Old Testament. “Six” is the number of man (created on the sixth day) and imperfection (none of us are perfect, only God).

  Three sixes — a “trinity” of sixes — represents man trying to take the form of God. Thus 666 is the number of the “antiChrist” — man denying the true, perfect God by playing God himself.

  The Bible ACTUALLY says the antiChrist is a spirit — not some political figure — so I suggest to my Christians brothers and sisters that the place they should look for the antiChrist is in the mirror, to make sure he’s not there. (The Bible is about you and me, your sin and mine, your salvation and mine, far more than about some splashy “prophecy” that makes a cool sci-fi flick.)

  Anyway, that’s the lowdown on the number thing. It has nothing to do with your house or apartment number being 666 or anything silly like that.
