(Before It's News)

Yes, the Borg from Star Trek.  It may sound outlandish at first, but you’ll soon agree there is a connection.

A decade ago there was a crucial election taking place.  The Republican candidate was considered a shoe-in.  No well-known Democrats wanted to waste their time and money in a race that was almost a guaranteed loss for whoever their party selected.  The Republican candidate – Jack Ryan – had a lot going for him.  Like many voters in the Chicago area, he was Catholic.  He shared a name with a popular Tom Clancy hero played by Harrison Ford.  He was tall and good-looking.  He went to Dartmouth, and Harvard Law and Harvard Business School.  He made hundreds of millions of dollars on Wall Street, but he left investment banking to teach on the South Side of Chicago at an inner city school.  How could he lose?

One Democratic hopeful had an idea.  He had already used this tactic back before he had the party’s nomination in the election, back when he was way behind in the primary losing to multi-millionaire Blair Hull. With friends at the Chicago Tribune who were backing him, they leaked the story that Hull’s ex-wife, Brenda Sexton, had sought an order of protection against him during their divorce proceedings.  (And in divorce battles, nothing gets exaggerated, right?)

From Discover the Networks:

“Those records were under seal, but as The New York Times noted: ‘The Tribune reporter who wrote the original piece later acknowledged in print that the campaign people for a certain Democratic rival had ‘worked aggressively behind the scenes’ to push the story.’”

Neither Hull nor his ex-wife wanted to release their sealed divorce records, but in response to the media’s hype — they relented and released the records 18 days before the primary.  In the next debate, Hull had to spend several minutes detailing the abuse allegations, explaining that his ex-wife “kicked me in the leg and I hit her shin to try to get her to not continue to kick me.”  Bye bye nomination for Mr. Hull.

Suddenly Hull’s run for the Senate was over.  The Democratic nomination for that race went to someone few had heard of before – Barack Obama.

He had just one problem – Jack Ryan, his Republican opponent – seemed unbeatable.  And Obama may also have known that “Jack Ryan had 22 3-ring binders full of details from his opponent’s past – information he was going to use against Barack Obama, an upstart with just a few years experience in the state senate and a very questionable past.” (from http://dailycaller.com/2012/09/25/the-jack-ryan-files-one-mans-playbook-for-defeating-state-sen-barack-obama/)

But Ryan also had an ex-wife: Jeri Ryan.  Yes, the beautiful actress we now know from Body of Proof

We once knew her as “Seven of Nine” – the Borg crew member on Star Trek Voyager.

But she was once in the spotlight for more questionable activities.

Based on older photos easily available if searching her name on Google Images – or more likely from his personal experience being married to her – Jack Ryan assumed it would OK to ask his wife to accompany him to an “adult club.”  Little did he know it would someday end his marriage and political career.

The quote below is from the article: “QUESTION: Why Did Jack Ryan Drop Out of Illinois Senate Race in 2004 (which paved the way for Obama’s rise)” by Kevin DuJan, December 28, 2011

http://hillbuzz.org/question-why-did-jack-ryan-drop-out-of-illinois-senate-race-in-2004-which-paved-the-way-for-obamas-rise-89310

“During their marriage, Jack Ryan used to openly talk about sexual fantasies he had of his wife Jeri, the most graphic of which is that Jack wanted to fly his wife to Paris and take her to the Cleopatra Club — which was a high-priced sex dungeon where the two of them could have sex in front of other wealthy people while utilizing various swings and other contraptions.  The Ryans never did any of this — it was purely Jack’s fantasy, and he wanted to do this with his own wife (while other men and women watched them).  When filing for divorce, Jerri’s divorce attorney put references to these fantasies into the filing to embarrass Jack (who wanted to have a political career).  The intent on Jerri’s part was to force a quick and lucrative divorce settlement so that the Cleopatra Club fantasies would never get out into the open.

In essence, Jerri Ryan blackmailed Jack Ryan [suggests/alleges DuJan in his article] into a much more generous divorce settlement than she would have received if she hadn’t made his unrealized sex fantasies a part of the filing.

The divorce agreement was supposed to be sealed and unavailable to reporters; once she had her loot, Jeri Ryan never talked about any of the Cleopatra Club stories again. Her intent was never to hurt Ryan, just to blackmail him for the best divorce settlement possible.

Flashforward to 2004.  The Obama Senate campaign illegally obtains Jack Ryan’s sealed divorce filing and sees the Cleopatra Club references.  Obama’s operatives release the embarrassing sexual fantasy material to the media.” [end of DuJan quote]

All the momentum the Jack Ryan campaign had was gone.  As one article (“Ryan File a Bombshell” by John Chase and Liam Ford, June 22, 2004   http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/chi-0406220247jun22-story.html#page=1) said: “Republican U.S. Senate nominee Jack Ryan’s ex-wife, TV actress Jeri Ryan, accused him of taking her to sex clubs in New York and Paris, where he tried to coerce her into having sex with him in front of strangers, according to records released Monday from the couple’s California divorce file.  Jack Ryan denied the allegations when they were made in 2000, when the couple was engaged in a bitter child custody battle a year after their divorce.  The papers were released by California Judge Robert Schnider following his decision last week to unseal portions of the Ryans’ divorce file.”  I wonder what (or who) motivates a judge to unseal such things….

The sex club allegations were discussed repeatedly on CNN and they also aired on NBC’s “Today” show, “Entertainment Tonight,” “NBC Nightly News,” ABC’s “Good Morning America,” “The Tonight Show With Jay Leno,” and other TV shows.  Just days after Judge Schnider unsealed the records, Jack Ryan dropped out of the Senate race in Illinois.  All because he allegedly propositioned his wife with a suggested activity and accepted “no” as her disinterested answer.

Late in the election campaign process, the Republican party asked their candidate, Jack Ryan, to remove himself from the race.  Republicans noticed that his opponent, Barack Obama – happened to be black – and in their strange opinion, it made sense to bring in the arch-conservative black Republican Alan Keyes to run against candidate Obama.  Two things stand out to me.  Illinois is not arch-conservative, and a moderate Republican stood a much better chance.  Also Illinois voters tend to elect politicians from Illinois, and Keyes is from Maryland.   But as if powerful decision makers were intervening to snatch victory from Republicans and hand it to Obama, Alan Keyes stepped in as a last-minute Republican candidate.  Keyes tried to point out that Obama is not what he claims to be – but he was viewed as an outsider and he was trounced in the election.  Ryan’s 23 binders of dirt on Obama’s past were never brought into the limelight.  Obama went on to a speech at the Democratic convention, and of course, the presidency.

And in a very real sense, we can thank the Borg’s “Seven of Nine,” actress Jeri Ryan, as much as anyone else.  Leading conservative blogger Michelle Malkin once commented on this in a short article: “What Barack Obama owes Jeri Ryan.” (http://michellemalkin.com/2008/01/07/what-barack-obama-owes-jeri-ryan/)

I don’t think she intentionally brought the man many people consider a strong candidate for the title of Antichrist into power.  But this is the history that leads me to put together a title with “The Borg and the Antichrist.”

It is fact that modern language was natural prone to adaption, an of that adaption a necessity to survive.

  • Yeah, David, Ryan’s wife must have been bought by Obama and works for the Antichrist.

  • Hey, this is the Apocalypse. Check out our article going viral with “Obama-is-Antichrist” video. Is Obama the Anti-Christ? Watch And See!/alternative/2014/11/is-obama-the-anti-christ-watch-and-see-3060530.html

  • hacked messaging board.

  • I knew all that. But damn she is still very hot….

  • Sounds to me like a whole lot of evil on all sides, and the smoothest-operator won. Once again, it’s not black and white, it’s varying shades of sewer filth and a case of who prefers a certain shade of it to be our next leader.
See, this is how bad off we are – frogs in varying pots approaching boil, and discussing ‘when this one starts to boil, I think that other one looks a lot better off than this one at that point’.
