For Lois Frankel, it’s quite permissible to attack her congressional opponent Adam Hasner for purportedly voting to increase his pay while serving in the Florida legislature, but what she’d prefer you not know is the fact that Frankel herself received her own salary increases during her own tenure as a state representative in the Florida House and also as the former Mayor of West Palm Beach.

Hasner, the former House Majority Leader rebutted Frankel’s recent attack video again him by reminding her about the fact that “annual increases in salary are tied to cost of living adjustments and are voted for as part of the annual balanced budget.”

As a state representative, Lois Frankel’s pay increased almost every year. As Mayor of West Palm Beach, Lois Frankel encouraged and received a nearly 40% pay increase in 2004 equal to $35,000 a year and later stated, “What sounds like a party to you, is work for me.”- Adam Hasner Campaign Ad

Florida law mandates that legislators must balance the state budget, so anything that is inserted in the final budget must be voted on, including any pay increases.

“Saying and doing whatever it takes just to win an election. Her latest television ad, “Real” is full of the same false attacks Washington politicians have been using for years. Congress is full of politicians like Lois Frankel, who put bitter partisanship above problem-solving. If we want a new start in Washington, we can’t rely on the same old politicians.  Lois Frankel doesn’t want to lead, she only wants to mislead.”-Adam Hasner

Frankel has been blitzing her email list with no less than three fundraising letters a week that are penned by various prominent liberal Democrats such as former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi.  What’s interesting is that we have yet to see one come from one of Frankel’s former colleagues in the Florida Legislature, Democratic National Chairwoman/Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz.

Could there be a substantial rift between Frankel and Wasserman Schultz that the media is simply ignoring?
