What’s this? The empty chair metaphor on the cover of the New Yorker? The empty chair has legs? It has entered the American consciousness?

Nah, can’t be. The talking heads on the left assured us that Clint Eastwood embarrassed himself with senile babbling and that the whole performance was a bad joke, soon to be forgotten.

And yet here we are, weeks later and a bastion of leftist meme creation is hitching a ride on Clint’s meme.

You know, it is almost like a man who made a life out of storytelling, imagery, narrative and metaphor knows a thing or two about showmanship. It’s almost like Clint Eastwood knows how to make an impression.
