Our president, behind closed doors: ” ‘We don’t have a spending problem.”"
Regular Hyscience readers will be surprised to hear that I agree with Obama. America doesn’t have a ‘spending’ problem … we have an ‘over-spending’ problem. And the fault lies squarely on our current president and his Democratic allies.
… we have both a revenue problem and a spending problem. The spending problem is by far the worse of the two, but both need to be addressed. The president’s misguided desire to “tax the rich” would not solve the revenue problem. It would just conform to his “take from the rich\ and give to the poor” ideology.
Another famous figure in history shared this view. He said (paraphrasing), “From those according to their means, to those according to their needs” His name was Karl Marx, author of the Communist Manifesto. In other words, our far-left socialist-leaning president and his party, and their Marxist-inclined ideology … is taking us in the wrong direction. America has an over-spending problem. Yes, it also has a revenue problem … but history shows us that a revenue problem is best solved through growth, not through “tax the rich” schemes, and insatiably seeking ever-more, that actually lead to less revenues, not more.
Clearly, unless and until we have a President and a Senate that understands the fundamentals of actually living within our means instead of just talking about it, and governing with policies that encourage growth instead of stagnation, nothing will get better. Things are, more likely than not, actually actually going to get worse, much worse.
