Mets Pitching Coach Dan Warthen Forced to Make Obeisance to Moonbat Ideology

(Before It's News)

Bad news for the New York Mets. Pitching coach Dan Warthen has been revealed as a thought criminal for having used a word that for reasons known only to the Inner Party has been deleted from the Newspeak Dictionary.

You might find it hard to believe that this incident is a big deal:

[T]he 61-year-old Warthen approached Jeff Cutler, a Japanese-American who serves as Daisuke Matsuzaka’s interpreter, on Monday and said, “I’m sorry I called you a Chinaman.”

Cutler replied,“It’s OK,” according to the report.

“I didn’t mean to insinuate. … I know you’re not Chinese,” Warthen said. “I thought it was a pretty good joke, though.”

“It was,” Cutler said, with a small laugh.

Warthen then walked away.

Guess you had to be there.

Unfortunately, this personal conversation was overheard by an authoritarian moonbat of the perpetually aggrieved variety, who finds it unacceptable that Cutler should use a vocabulary item deemed to be politically incorrect. You might want to pull on a tall pair of boots before wading into reporter Stu Woo’s bogus righteousness:

It surprised me that the 61-year-old Warthen, who pitched in the major leagues in the 1970s before starting his coaching career, would use that word at all — and so casually. Was he saying that he wanted to apologize for saying “Chinaman” only because he’d said it to a man of Japanese, rather than Chinese, descent? Did he think that the word itself was OK to use — or that it was acceptable material for jokes?

Cutler confirmed that unlike the eavesdropping Wu, he was not offended by the utterly innocuous remark. Nonetheless, Wu ratted out Warthen to vice president of media relations Jay Horwitz.

Warthen was compelled to debase himself with an apology. But that wasn’t enough. General manager Sandy Alderson apologized on behalf of the entire organization for the allegedly “insensitive” and “offensive” use of the forbidden word “Chinaman.”

These idiotic apologies over nothing may appear only mildly disgusting, but actually they are pernicious in the extreme. This isn’t about the word “Chinaman,” which is no more insensitive than the word “Englishman.” It is about forcing people to make obeisance to our official state religion, political correctness. Note that groups associated with traditional America — whites, Christians, non-perverts, etc. — are not granted the power to be offended over nothing and to demand apologies.
