Crist Was Against In-State Tuition For Illegals, Before He Was for it
Say it ain’t so Charlie.
Democrat gubernatorial candidate Charlie Crist is out peddling for cash on the whole in-state tuition for illegal aliens debate currently going in Tallahassee, Florida.
Crist’s campaign has just sent a fundraising email out to supporters, asking them to “chip in $10″ to help raise $100,000 by April 30.
The email states that Rick Scott and his evil-doers in the Florida legislature are simply playing politics and” dragging their feet on giving in-state tuition to young Florida DREAMers,”
If some of you thought that Crist was against in-state tuition for illegals, you are partially correct. Sort of.
After all, this is Charlie “Houdini” Crist we are talking about here. Crist was against in-state tuition for illegals, before he was for it.
Let’s chalk it up as another El Flip- Flop-o (A little Spanish lingo for you white folk) for Charlie Crist.
In 2006, Charlie Crist Opposed In-State Tuition for Illegal Immigrants. “Crist, like Gallagher, said state lawmakers did the ”right thing” earlier this year when they rejected a bill allowing children of illegal immigrants to pay the same tuition rates as Florida residents.” (Gary Fineout and Beth Reinhard, “Cuban Americans Courted; The Republican Contenders To Replace Gov. If Scott and friends are playing politics on this issue, then Charlie has admitted that he did the same type of politicking on the in-stated tuition for illegals measure back in 2006, right?

This shouldn’t be partisan — getting a good, affordable education isn’t about right versus left.
It’s about right versus wrong. And to delay on this any longer is simply wrong.
