White House press secretary Jay Carney is the latest to jump ship. President Obama announced today that Carney submitted his resignation effective in mid June. He’ll be replaced by his deputy Josh Earnest. Mark Steyn filled in for Rush Limbaugh this afternoon and said he had hoped it would be the guy that said Benghazi was “like, two years ago.” That guy is now working for Hillary Clinton.
One of Jay’s favorite lines is, ‘I have no personnel announcements at this time,’ ” Obama said, shocking the assembled White House press corps. “But I do, and it’s bittersweet. It involves one of my closest friends here in Washington.
“He’s got good judgment, he has good temperament and he’s got a good heart,” the president added. “And I’m going to miss him a lot.”
