Palinistas and other conservatives are crying out for 2016 Bold Colors. We’re tired of the same old same old. The outcry has been fueling much speculation, some of it being outright ridiculous fantasy.
I want to say up front as publisher of US for Palin that we are not a “draft Sarah website.” We support Sarah Palin in whatever she chooses to do, be it running for President, running a marathon, or just running around. That said, Sarah Palin is a 2016 hopeful until such time as she announces otherwise. This is why a recent fantasy article on another Palin support site was panned loudly in its comment thread. The writer dismissed a Palin run right off the page. Lead balloons don’t fly.
No one knows what Sarah Palin will or will not do. Those who claim to know, don’t know what they they don’t know. No person alive even knows for sure they’re going to be here from one second to the next let alone knowing the inner thoughts of a public figure they’ve met for a few minutes if at all.
Whether or not Sarah Palin runs, we need to at least consider the direction in which we want the GOP to go. That’s where the subject of 2016 Bold Colors comes in.

Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) said the GOP has tried the “mushy middle” – pale pastels – with Ford, Dole, McCain and Romney. After 40 years and four failed candidates, one would think our party would learn. Sen. Cruz is considering running, but said he likely won’t announce till the middle of the year. Sen. Cruz has no executive experience and having held a dual citizenship with Canada, his natural born eligibility could be a question. Sen. Cruz, however, is a political soul mate with Sarah Palin. Should she not run, he certainly represents a Bold Colors 2016 choice for us. Cruz regards establishment candidates such as Romney, Christie, and Bush as “squishy.” I agree.
Last Thing We Need: Another Bush
“I think this is a great American country, great country, and if we can’t find more than two or three families to run for high office, that’s silly, because there are great governors and great eligible people to run….” None other than Barbara Bush, the family’s matriarch said this. She said she hopes her son, Jeb does not run though she thinks he is most qualified.
Jeb Bush is the opposite of what we need in 2016 Bold Colors. In my opinion, he should not be in the GOP.
Donald Trump, another 2016 hopeful said, “the last thing we need is another Bush.”
We have had 20 years of either a Bush or a Clinton. It is time for a change, no?
Two-Time Loser Romney Couldn’t Close the Deal….
But, Trump minced no words about a possible Romney run.
“Romney had a great chance of winning and he blew it. He’s like a deal maker who couldn’t close the deal, so you can’t give him another chance. It didn’t work. He got less votes than John McCain got years before. He just was unable to close the deal that should have easily been closed.”
He compared Romney to a golfer who can’t sink a three-foot putt on the 18th hole.
Trump is a 2016 hopeful and will announce his decision in three months when his contract obligations with The Apprentice are completed. Trump is a friend and admirer of Sarah Palin, who met with him on her 2011 One Nation Bus Tour. Trump held off on endorsing anyone in 2011 until she announced.
Though I supported Romney as the GOP nominee in unison with Sarah Palin who thrice said her base should vote for him, I agree with Trump. Romney is a two-time loser having lost in 2008 to McCain in the primary as well as the 2012 general.
Anyone who knows me knows I have a dim view of giving any two-time loser a third chance at a run for any office. I don’t care who it is, how good their Bold Colors “street cred” is, or who endorsed them. If you can’t win after two runs – especially if you’ve burnt through two Palin endorsements – you don’t deserve a third chance. Period. Political capital and donor dollars are better spent on a fresh start, not squandered on two-time losers.
Even if Romney were a 2016 Bold Colors conservative, he would not deserve a third chance simply for being unable to close the deal, like Trump said.
Being a Reagan Conservative is necessary, but insufficient. A 2016 Bold Colors candidate must also be able to close the deal and win. Results matter. We don’t need our 2016 Bold Colors to fail with flying colors. The stakes are too high for that.
When the matriarch of the Bushes rails against family dynasties running for President, it speaks volumes. I am naturally biased in favor of Sarah Palin in all things. I would not publish a leading site with “for Palin” in the name if I weren’t. That said, we must push the GOP away from the same old same old, whether Sarah Palin runs or not.
That means:
2016 Bold Colors means a fresh start. We should be done with retreads.
It’s up to YOU – yes YOU – the voter – to decide:
Pick One.
What are your thoughts?
