Rubio’s One “Oops” During The Debate

Marco Rubio was seen by many as the clear winner of the debate on Tuesday night. Even so some news outlets are reading too far into a statement he made. They are saying he was wrong.

Rubio said:

Welders make more money than philosophers. We need more welders and less philosophers.

CNN was quick to point out according to U.S. government data that statement was not true. The median wage for welders is $37,420 and the median wage for philosophy professors is $63,630.

They went out to say Rubio was correct for pointing it out because there is a shortage of welders and maybe more people will become welders.

Personally I thought Rubio was simply saying more people need to actually get their hands dirty and work instead of thinking about it or sitting around doing nothing.
