(Before It's News)

Back in October, Russia was publicly blamed for hacking the Democratic National Committee, which resulted in Debbie Wasserman Schultz stepping down as chairwoman after it was revealed that the DNC was in favor of Hillary Clinton during the Democratic primaries.

Homeland Security Advisor Lisa Monaco announced that President Obama has now called for “a full review” of the 2016 Presidential election for any possible interference on Russia’s behalf.

When speaking to reporters at a Christian Science Monitor breakfast, Monaco added that a report will be done for “a range of stakeholders to include Congress.” Said report is expected to be completed and turned in to Congress before Obama leaves office in January 20th.

“This is consistent with the work we did over the summer to engage both the congress and global stakeholders, in terms of providing them the information and tools to defend themselves,” she said.

Lindsey Graham (R) and Democrats on Capitol Hill have called for investigations, but critics argue that this is meant to discredit President-elect Donald Trump’s presidential win, which was largely seen as an upset victory over Hillary Clinton by political pundits.

President-elect Trump has denied any Russian involvement in his Presidential win.
