Rubio Dodges Town Hall Meetings, And Who Would Blame Him?

(Before It's News)

I don’t blame Rubio for dodging town hall meetings where liberal activists will be planted to give him hell before, during, and after he speaks to issues that affect all Americans.

Rubio, who believes that these activists will “heckle and cream” at him for the cameras, has pointed to the “Indivisible document” spelling out the shady liberal activist play-calling at town hall meetings.

The document exists solely to disrupt any and all meetings Republican elected officials conduct with their constituents.

But to be fair, Rubio also dodged town hall meetings and other appearances when he co-sponsored the disastrous 2013 Senate immigration reform bill.

Conservative activists around Florida were out for blood then.

Some of these same activists heckled Rubio off a Fort Lauderdale stage in early 2009 for blocking five hawkish immigration bills while he was Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives.

While liberal Democrats are desperate to catch all of their shenanigans on tape, similar actions were taken by “Tea Party” activists during the 2009-2010 election cycle, when they took to the streets in opposition to the 2009 Stimulus Act and Obamacare.

For the most part, these Tea Party activists comported themselves in a respectful manner, but there were a few misguided hot-heads that shamed the whole bunch.

As Democratic town hall meetings were concerned, Tea Party types did disrupt proceedings, but not to the extent their liberal counterparts are doing.

I once attended an event in Fort Lauderdale, Florida where an anti-Semitic comment was flung out at Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D), prompting the town hall to quickly shut down.

While this was an isolated incident, what leftists are doing is downright shameful.
