We say happy # 51 to Tom Glavine. He was born in Concord, Massachusetts.
Tom broke with the Braves in 1987 and lost 17 games in 1988. However, his career turned around in 1989 (14-8 & 3.68 ERA). He became one of the best pitchers in baseball in the 1990′s and beyond.
Tom retired with 305 wins, 244 with Atlanta and the rest with the New York Mets. He was 14-16 in the post season but did pitch very well in the World Series (4-3 with a 2.16 ERA).
Glavine was inducted to the Hall of Fame in 2014.
