It has to be said that President Trump’s negotiating with members of Congress, including Democrats, is a wise move. President Obama never did it. He did not lobby members of Congress. He especially treated Republicans as his enemy. As a result he was forced to act via Executive Actions. As we have seen they are temporary – only lasting until the next President comes along and rewrites them.
This new President has shown himself to be eager to work with the Legislative branch. Laws passed by Congress are not temporary.

There are Democrats who will not respond favorably to Mr. Trump’s outreach. Some of them are humorous in their resistance.
The Trump administration has quietly begun reaching out to moderate congressional Democrats in an effort to forge bipartisan relationships in the wake of Republicans’ inability to craft and pass a health care bill amongst themselves.
Rep. Henry Cuellar said White House staff reached out Monday to him and some individual members of the Blue Dog Coalition and the New Democrat Coalition, two groups filled with moderate and conservative Democrats, many of whom represent swing districts and have reputations for working across the aisle.”
