What fun it must be for LGBT militants to force Christian business owners to choose between their faith and their livelihood. How delighted they must be that the odious Terry McAuliffe just posted a big green light for them to practice the sport in Virginia:
The Democratic governor of Virginia has vetoed a religious freedom bill which would have prohibited the government from punishing those who believe in biblical marriage and conduct their public lives in accordance with that conviction. …
“No person shall be required to participate in the solemnization of any marriage, or subject to any penalty by the Commonwealth, or its political subdivisions or representatives or agents, notwithstanding any other provision of law, solely on account of such person’s belief, speech, or action in accordance with a sincerely held religious belief or moral conviction that marriage is or should be recognized as the union of one man and one woman,” the vetoed legislation read.
McAwful barked that the until recently universally held view that holy matrimony can only exist between a man and a woman “is not only unconstitutional, it equates to discrimination under the guise of religious freedom.”
“Discrimination” means failure to discriminate in favor of politically preferred groups like sexual deviants.
McAwful’s veto of S.B. 2314 and H.B. 2025 was highly predictable, since the bill would have countered his recent Executive Order 61, which is intended to deny state benefits and government contracts to any organization that doesn’t toe the line on the LGBT agenda, including Christian schools like Liberty, Regent, and Patrick Henry.
Haters of Christianity haven’t had this much fun since Constantine converted. The game is remunerative too; when leftist judges destroy Christian business owners for refusing to participate in blasphemy by imposing ruinous fines, they often force them to pay the fines to the malicious perverts who destroyed their lives.
McAwful isn’t the only bureaucrat to enable this injustice. As Strident Conservative notes, those who seem to think Sweet Cakes by Melissa got what they deserved can be found in taller castles than Virginia’s Executive Mansion:
McAuliffe’s veto denying the religious liberty of Christians is something Donald Trump—or Jared and Ivanka—would approve of because he’s done the same thing. Just days after being sworn into office, V.P. Pence defended Trump for allowing an Obama Executive Order legalizing discrimination against Christian businesses wanting to do business with the federal government to stand unless they had pro-LGBT policies in place.
Hapless Pence gets it from both sides. Despite selling out, he is still demonized by LGBT militants and their fellow travelers for temporarily supporting resistance to their tyranny in Indiana. Trump’s moral enabler is neither hot nor cold.
Strident Conservative continues:
The LGBT assault on Christians and religious liberty, from both the state and federal levels, is real. And it will only be stopped when Christian conservatives take a strong stand against the Gay Mafia.
Considering where the GOP has been heading recently, no help from the government can be expected.
Say, maybe we can bring back the shows with the lions like they had at the Coliseum.
