For many centuries, the color white has been associated with purity. But to explicitly refer to that association in the current political environment constitutes a thought crime, as Nivea found out the hard way:
The German skincare maker’s ad for a deodorant included a picture of a woman and the slogan “white is purity.”
It was posted on Nivea’s Middle East Facebook page with the caption: “Keep it clean, keep it bright. Don’t let anything ruin it.”
The post sparked a backlash, with social media users accusing Nivea of being racist and insensitive.
Nivea’s parent company reacted with the obsequious compliance we have come to expect.
Beiersdorf (BDRFF), the Hamburg-based company that owns Nivea, Eucerin and other skincare brands, said it decided to take the advert down due to what it called “concerns about ethnic discrimination.”
Get the thought police on the line. Another company must be denounced. Look what Bourn Creative says about the color white:
White, an inherently positive color, is associated with purity, virginity, innocence, light, goodness, heaven, safety, brilliance, illumination, understanding, cleanliness, faith, beginnings, sterility, spirituality, possibility, humility, sincerity, protection, softness, and perfection.
These ideological reprobates further note:
The expression “white as snow” is used in reference to the pure, clean, and innocent.
So that’s why the Brothers Grimm said Snow White had “skin white as snow.” Racists, both of them. Copies of their work must be collected and burned in the interests of racial equality.
