I read an article today on CNN that really took me by surprise. I read about a Michigan woman who was very wealthy and traveled a lot and had her house payments taken directly out of her bank account so she never had to worry about making her payments on time. Which would usually be a good thing but the problem is that no one ever knew she died 6 years ago. She was just found dead in her Pontiac in her garage within the last 24 hours and it made me wonder… what kind of person was she that nobody missed her? Her neighbors said that she was quiet, kept to herself and traveled alot. NO ONE, I mean no one missed her. After 6 years her money ran out and the bank had sent foreclosure warnings and assumed she was aware of the situation because like so many others, they got no response. Finally when the bank went to take the house is when they found her dead in her garage. No family, friends, children, no love…. what kind of life did she have where no one missed or reported her missing and no one came to her house to find her… what kind of life was that?
Makes you wonder, doesn’t it? If something happened to you, would you be missed or reported missing? She obviously didn’t make any kind of impact on the world or in her immediate world anyway, to leave any kind of impression otherwise she would have been missed. It’s really a sad story but it also is a good lesson to the rest of us as to what kind of life are we leading? Will we be missed? Will anyone care? Will they be happy or sad when we leave this world? Did we leave an impression and was it a good one? It reminds me of a song that Randy Travis sang called 3 Wooden Crosses.
Here’s his music video and I’ll include the lyrics so you can get a grasp on the message he’s sending out.
Just something to think about….
