Why is he described as a “master of the dark political arts”?
The political strategist is reportedly due to receive the honour just months after leading the Conservative party to their first outright victory for more than 20 years.
But furious campaigners insist the claim is further evidence that ‘cronyism’ is rife within the honours system, which should be about ‘rewarding dedicated public service’.
