Tell WV regulators the Mountain Valley Pipeline endangers our water resources!
The 42-inch diameter, 300-mile Mountain Valley Pipeline would carry fracked gas across West Virginia and into southern Virginia. The pipeline would cross 1,021 waterbodies and impact 39.3 acres of wetlands. It would come within one tenth of a mile of two public drinking water sources and threaten an untold number of private drinking wells.
The project must receive several water permits from the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection. WVDEP recently announced the public comment period for their review of the project. This is an important opportunity to voice your concern about the Mountain Valley Pipeline’s adverse impacts to water systems in your communities.
