The Three Questions, written and illustrated by Jon J. Muth is a wonderful children’s story. Based upon Leo Tolstoy’s short story, by the same title, the story seeks to guide children toward the understanding of what is right. Though not cheap by any means, the hardcover book is a keeper, and I would recommend it to teachers and parents alike. The watercolor pictures are a delight as is the fable itself.
The main character is a young boy, who asks:
“When is the best time to do things? Who is the most important one? What is the right thing to do?”
In the end, the boy finds the answers within himself in a unique way which will make your child smile.
If you cannot afford to purchase a copy, go to a library or a bookstore and read it to your young one. It’s worth it because it teaches the values of helping others, even those in danger.
I support this wonderful book myself, recommending it personally.
