I’m not sure why I felt compelled to give FoF another chance this season. It’s not like they would change the dry, awkward, personality-less cast. I have nothing against any of the people employed to be in front of the camera, but I do have issues with the producers casting such a young, awkward, and stilted group to perform ridiculous experiments in such a pleasant and courteous manner.

I watched the episode last night about the hazy ghost on the stairs and the Bigfoot sightings in Kentucky. They went after one BF photo from a trap camera that had already been explained as a bird on another show. The show seems to often pick up subjects that were already explained elsewhere, like the Memorial Day Bigfoot episode. Their experiments are absurd and bizarre and their conversations about what they’re going to do and how they’re going to do it, rehearsed and self-conscious.

Watching the members talk to each other, you wonder if they have any friendship outside of the show. They talk at each other instead of to each other and barely nod their heads, blink or make any facial expressions. It’s so mechanized and boring that I want to shake them and say “is there anybody home???

I simply cannot watch the show anymore. Nada. Nope. Not gonna happen.

SHOW REMAKE:  Once again, I will reiterate that this show was a great concept, but poorly executed. Had they hired a trio of crusty, more experienced, rough around the edges, middle-aged cusses who can argue, and try to prove their points with each other, it would have been a winner. Some folks like the Mythbusters guys meets the Lone Gunman dudes from X-files — would be ideal. Let them take a stand on the idea and the computer dude show how it can be hoaxed, the tinkerer show how it could be rigged, and the paranormal dude show why it might be real. They meet together to show their evidence in the situation room. Let them bicker, kid around with each other, and ultimately win each other over to one side or the other.

We need personalities for shows to fly. That’s why the first seasons of Ghost Hunters worked and Destination Truth. Come on, Syfy, haven’t you learned that yet?
