Interview with Adam Gorightly about his new book Happy Trails to High Weirdness
Adam Gorightly has released his new book Happy Trails To High Weirdness: A Conspiracy Theorist's Tour Guide. It is a pleasure to get to interview Adam for the third time. This time in written form at Examiner, everytime has always been a knowledge gathering plethora of inspiration of following our weirds. You can listen to the recent and his other show at The Church Of Mabus radio show in the archives or click here for the main link to his last interview there. Adam is always a hoot nanny of high strange and comedic antics and a fountain of unique personalities. I hope you enjoy his interview here at my Examiner. Presenting.
1. What was your complete goal and mission behind Happy Trails to High Weirdness: A Conspiracy Theorist's Tour Guide?
My main goal is to make boatloads of money and crush all the little people along the way who are foolish enough to stand in my path.
But all seriousness aside, Happy Trails To High Weirdness, I hope, can be used as a roadmap for others to navigate their own trails of high weirdness. It’s comprised of pieces written over many years, dating back to the early 90’s, and I must commend my publisher/editor at FeeJee Press for bringing some semblance of sanity and cohesiveness to this collection, which I haphazardly tossed into his lap and said "make sense of this mish mash." I must also credit my publisher with the title of the book, which according to Reverend Ivan Stang, was ripped off from him.
Above all, I tried to capture, in Happy Tails to High Weirdness, the type of gonzo journalism approach of the late great Hunter S. Thompson, to create a kind of free-wheeling romp that recounts some of my strange experiences and the unique people and landscapes I’ve encountered during my 50 "odd" years on this planet.
