Among strange artifacts that cannot be easily explained, there is a stele located in the the German national forest, (Kottenforst Naturpark), Roisdorf, a few miles west of Bonn, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany.
It is a roughly square metal bar partially buried in the ground, with about 4 feet 10 inches (1.47 m) above the ground and approximately 9 feet (2.7 m) below ground.
It's so deeply stuck in the ground that even with a powerful tractor, it cannot be drawn from the soil – as it was attempted.
It was placed at its present location around 1727, but where was it earlier?
The artifact has been shrouded in mystery for centuries and still remains the subject of scholarly speculation. Who made it, how and why, is unknown… Rest of article with all images here:
It was used as a ‘spinsters rubbing post’ placed there by the wives of the village to keep the unmarried women away from their husbands. Any fule know that.
Lord Wellington, I’m not buying that. Personally, I am beginning to think that the earth cleanses itself every several thousands of years. This new country/ continent that was discovered submerged (dogland?) would be good evidence for this. There are several better examples the the things listed in this article.
Pretty cool article, they have alot of good things on that site………
@Anonymous Doggerland is the submerged continental shelf area surounding the UK. It flooded at the end of the last ice age, c10k years ago. From melting ice not from some mysterious event. Ice ages occur roughly every 150K years not 1000′s.
Wellington, was being funny. But it makes the point his guess is as good as anyone elses.
