Bety Comerford on ‘Ghost and Shamanic Tales Of True Hauntings’

So what is your over all perspective on ghosts as far as to what they are exactly? I mean for instance I believe some ghosts could be glimmers from our now moment into the past or even the future maybe and not necessarily ghosts caught in limbo. Like when people see a Civil war soldier ghost or something. Your thoughts on this?

Bety Comerford: We’ve discovered there are two types of hauntings. There is a residual haunting where a trauma was so great, it actually left an energetic imprint. Those are the hauntings where, like the movie Groundhog Day, an action is repeated over and over again. A place like Gettysburg or any other battlefield would definitely have this type of haunting. We know these are residual hauntings because we don’t feel any emotions from the spirit at all. It really is like watching a movie in an endless loop. Then there are the other types of hauntings where there is a ghost present. What we’ve found in our investigations is that each human being comes into this life to learn certain lessons. Each lesson has an energy attached to it. As you learn each lesson, you progress to the next lesson and so on. If you’ve learned your lessons, when you die, you’ve reached an energetic threshold that allows you to move onto the next plane of existence.

However, many people remain trapped in anger, sorrow, grief, regret, etc. at the moment of their death. These are very heavy emotions that weigh the spirit down. I liken it to trying to cross a river with your pockets full of heavy rocks. You’re going to drown. What we do is help these spirits release these emotions. A ghost no longer has a physical body to release emotions. But we do. We therefore take on these emotions and ground them. The more we ground, the lighter they become. We never force a spirit to leave a location (unless they are actively disrupting the living). We offer them a choice, because being stuck, they don’t know they have a choice. As they release the heavier emotions, they begin to see the ‘doorway’. They now can remain where they are, or move forward into a place of peace and love. With that kind of a choice, which would you choose? CONTINUED..
