PROGENY OF SATANIC PANIC
While I was doing research on occult killings, I stumbled upon an ad in a Yahoo blog where a young girl named Theresa had a strange request: She wanted to meet a vampire. The ad was small and discreet and it said “I am interested in meeting a real vampire, one that will treat me right. I love vampires. I have always been fascinated with their dark side.”
It is becoming obvious that, whatever romanticism exists with vampires, the message is loud and clear: it is no longer a fad or a passing phase. The vampire cult mentality has grasped the imagination of young adults across the country and what happens beyond Team Edward and Team Jacob is a wild ride into a circling abyss of darkness because some kids don’t stop at being fashion victims rummaging through the Goodwill store for appropriate dark clothing.
The present captivation with dark supernaturalism seems to create a cultural high. While religious leaders hope it fades, it seems like more and more that stable people will indulge in the dark fetishism of the vampire. It doesn’t seem to be going away and brutal attacks seem to have a deeper and far more complex cause.
While the occult supernatural fascination may be declared a fad in the United States and psychologists are pointing the finger at the new surge in occult-themed movies and TV shows – there needs to be a focus on what is feeling once again like a Satanic panic, of sorts. This time, however, the killings are younger children and it is being done on behalf of a vampire, a demonic influence or Satan himself.
In New Zealand for example, three young men were accused of tearing open an unconscious man’s veins with their teeth and drinking his blood. The victim allegedly had made a move on an alleged vampire’s wives which kindled his anger and apparently his hunger. The boys were asked why they did it and they claimed that they answered to a someone who claimed to be a “king vampire” and that appeared in their dreams asking them to kill.
Is this all delusion? Is it part of the cult of supernaturalism that religious clerics believe is moving through consciousness of the zeitgeist?
Vicious, blood hungry vampires were known to the ancient Babylonians, Assyrians and Greeks and have terrorized Europe for centuries. The Eyrbyggia saga of Iceland, for example, tells of vampires in the year 1000 who killed 18 servants in one household.
In 1732, public officials and 24 soldiers from Belgrade (Yugoslavia) opened a grave in a mountain village. Inside was a healthy man who had been “dead” for three years. During those three years, five relatives died from vampire bite. The soldiers pierced his heart with an iron bar.
In 1743, Arnold Paul of Hungary “died” when a cartload of hay fell on him. Four persons subsequently died from vampire bite. Forty days after his burial, Paul was exhumed. The sheet covering him was blood-splattered. The District Governor ordered that a stake be driven through the body. The “corpse” struggled, emitting fearful shrieks.
Hundreds of similar incidences occurred in Europe involving “corpses” buried as long as 30 years. They were dragged from graves and tombs and made to shout, bleed or scream before being beheaded, impaled or burned.
Is this historical account of vampires a delusion? Is it part of a metaphor to describe diseased human beings and the possibility of animate decaying flesh? The history speaks for itself and, perhaps, beastly instincts are being triggered because some people are keener to the possibility of a cataclysmic cycle.
Something is triggering the base instinct of animalistic behavior which can be traced to primitives who may have been used to drinking human blood and partaking of the flesh in order to remain youthful and have eternal life.
The glamorization of vampires and the occult has always been cited in the media as a cause for younger people to kill and make outrageous declarations of Satanic influence or even the influence of the occult or supernatural.
One of the more frightening cases is the case of the ‘Vampire Clan of Kentucky‘ that were lead by the young psychopathic killer Roderick Farrell. It began with animal torture and teenagers drinking the blood of their kill and the blood of each other.
Then there was the plot to ritualistically kill one of the girl’s parents and then marking the body with an occult symbol. This was an initiate rite of passage for a vampire clan in Florida. Rod Ferrell who was the ringleader of the cult was mentally disturbed and was convinced that he was a real vampire and was constantly taking part in blood drinking rituals. These activities happened 15 years ago and Farrell has since been condemned to death in the Florida electric chair. Ferrell pleaded guilty to killing Richard Wendorf and Naoma Ruth Queen on November 25, 1996, when he and three members of his blood-sucking cult came to Florida from Kentucky to help the couple’s daughter run away.
During the court hearing it was found that Ferrell’s mother Sondra Gibson was responsible for introducing her son to vampirism. In fact it was discovered that the entire family had been involved with generational occultism and satanic ritualism.
On college and high school campuses, vampires, werewolves, and other “creatures of the night” are esteemed as objects of desire and idolized by young men and women who view them as cult icons of envious mystical power. While vampire fetishism is alive and well, and while the subculture makes for a remarkable freak show for the talk show circuit, many of the vampiric new breed are not your typical Goth kids that have a fascination with horror films.
While many goth kids are harmless and, in some respects, the vampire subculture is the product of fetishism – there are new reports of young people attacking others and declaring that they are most certainly vampires or even demon possessed.
Stephanie Pistey admitted to killing Jacob Hendershot. Four other people have also been charged in the crime. Police say the defendants lured Hendershot to a house where they beat him to death and dumped his body in a storm drain.
Pistey says that the boy tried to rape her. Once again Police are saying that this is the work of yet another vampire cult. Pistey told Police that she believed that she was a vampire/werewolf hybrid.
She says she didn’t drink Hendershot’s blood, but reportedly said she has drunk the blood of her fiancé who is also a co-defendant in the case.
During a burglary, Lyle Monroe Bensley attacked a woman in Galveston, Texas, and attempted to bite her neck claiming that he was a 500-year-old vampire. Found growling and hissing in a parking lot and wearing only boxer shorts, the pierced and tattooed Bensley claimed that he needed to feed.
Vampires have been a focal point of literature since Bram Stoker’s 1897 novel, “Dracula”. But fascination, particularly among young people, has peaked in recent years with the popularity of the “Twilight” books about teenage vampires and the HBO series, “True Blood.” Many psychiatrists believe that this may the reason for the recent vampire attacks.
The media is citing that a lot of the so called Satanic attacks that are rare can be attributed to occult themes in a lot of death metal musical acts and well known satanic-themed bands like Slayer.
It seems that more and more cases are finding their way in the headlines and it doesn’t seem to be letting up. With the real satanic vampire attacks there is blood lust imagery in the media.
For example, Lady Gaga has been in the news with all of her sordid activities. In an article entitled “Lady Gaga Left ‘Blood’ In Hotel Bath,” a housekeeper at London’s Intercontinental Hotel reported that Lady Gaga, left large amounts of blood in the bathtub of the fashionable she stayed in. She reported the incident to the concierge at the time, Andrea Miller, and was told to put it out of her mind. The maid’s name is being withheld by Scotland Yard for her protection.
While a lot of apologists were saying that Gaga uses fake blood in her act, it doesn’t help that recently the pop icon released new perfume called “Fame.” It is reported that the scent was created using a sample of Gaga’s own blood, as well as semen from another unknown donor. The blend apparently also contains a highly-toxic plant extract that is known to kill humans.
If it doesn’t work as perfume, it most certainly can be used in a Satanic sex ritual.
In the summer of 2011, a Rolling stone cover featured the stars of “True Blood” extolling the virtues of vampire ritual sex. The cover featured a ménage à trois of the main stars naked and drenched in blood.
The vampire persona and its Satanic roots has evolved from the the so called medieval; fiendish supernatural beings, shape-shifters, mentally-disturbed deviants, Satanic servants and fetish followers. One thing is for sure: the Satanic hold and the cherished thoughts towards the supernatural trap is an open invitation for ritual killing and the shedding of blood. It is most prevalent with children and now we must understand that this is either an intentional psycho-dynamic that is presented or just the result of disturbed people believing in depraved and devilish practices.
Every religious philosophy has its fanatics and Satanism has always been seen as the extreme scapegoat when it needs to be demonstrated that many people who cannot handle a supernatural world will often lose their minds in the swarm of bad vibrations in an ether already being destabilized by war and the threat of the end of the world.
