Nick Groff on ‘Chasing Spirits: The Building Of The Ghost Adventures Crew’
Could you share your experience about having a face to face encounter with a spirit at Linda Vista Hospital in Los Angeles?
NG: It was one of the scariest experiences ever. Making eye contact with someone who isn’t supposed to be there is life-changing. I was petrified at first, but later my mind tried to find answers as to why I made this contact with a spirit. Having this experience brought me closer to the other side. It was my game changer and now I 150% believe there is more to this than just dying.
I would love to hear about some of the equipment you use on your adventures into haunted territories that you share in the book.
NG: We have never shied away from trying different pieces of equipment in our investigations. You don’t know what works for you and what doesn’t until you test it. Some of our go-to gear includes our thermal imaging camera, EM Pump, digital audio recorder, The MEL-Meter, and the PX.
One cool story is when we were testing out the PX device at Hill View Manor in Pennsylvania. The device was speaking words, which later we would discover were from a document that detailed the story of a guy being released from jail, walking to the building, getting drunk and dying in the location. Our PX device was describing his death. Our equipment is crucial to help document the experiences we go through to better validate these cases.
