(Before It's News)

Did God really send a flood that covered every piece of land underneath the waves thereby destroying all of mankind besides Noah, his family and the animals?  Most geologists agree today that there is no geological evidence to support the Bible’s account of a worldwide flood.  One of the main arguments given by proponents of the planet wide flood are that seashells are found on mountaintops and were deposited there by the flood.  They also argue that the dates are wrong that are given by geologists and that Earth’s layers we see today were deposited rapidly by the flood.  Geologists counter these arguments with the theory of plate tectonics which says that the mountaintops we see today were once either at sea level or below and through the plates colliding over millions of years, the mountains were built up gradually.  A seashell on a mountaintop only proves that at one time in the past the land was lower and then was raised up.

There is one part in the flood legends that is not debatable and that is flood stories cover the entire world.  Currently, we know of about 70 different cultures that have a flood story somewhere in their myths and legends.
