Doubting That Leap Of Faith
I had a long weekend to contemplate a mistake I made during a broadcast. Ground Zero has been around for nearly two decades and in those years I had never been so frightened by a story I read. I was so frightened that I jumped to the erroneous conclusion that it was real. The story that I went with was sent to me via e-mail by a colleague who told me that he had received it from a friend who knew a well-known speaker on matters of 2012 who had claimed that the LHC at CERN was going to be operating at full power until December 21st, 2012 with the final firing happening on the date that by many has been considered doomsday.
The story did seem too good to be true; however, it was a disturbing topic that I felt would create an interesting discussion. There really aren’t too many things that give me the chills, but this story was unique. I ran a background check about the possibility of the facility being operational on that date and learned of a story that was published on January of 2011 in The Guardian and February of 2011 in POPSCI, stating that it would be operational through December 21st, 2012 and then would be shut down for maintenance.
I was sent a press release that I later realized was originally published on the Before It’s News website. I am on several subscription-based sites that send this material to me. After we prepared the show and presented it to the public as content it was later shown that the original creators of the material were a group of web gamers called THE CATEGORISTS. After going back and looking for the errant “press release” we found that the entire report had conveniently disappeared.
The reason was quite simple. There were several other newsgroups, websites and special interest sites that posted the same story along with news that a student film maker at the CERN facility had created a fictional zombie film entitled DECAY at the facility. The irony was amazing and the story about CERN going full power on December 21st, 2012 was reported and retracted as a resurrected April Fool’s joke.
It has been speculated that the “CERN Doomsday story” was regenerated to create interest in the zombie film.

I took a leap of faith about a story and ended up falling hard on a reality that while the show was entertaining, it most certainly had me convinced that there was something afoot and I fully admit that I had a human moment with the story.
My human moment was literally trying to meet a deadline with the story that touched me to my very core. I was fooled because of my fear and while my shows are literally rooted in theory meaning that I may or may not believe all of what is being reported—I got caught up in the mystery as to why anyone would take chances with human life on the date that has been adopted as a date of destiny, a date of doom?
I was receiving e-mails from people telling me that science knows what it is doing, and that while it may seem that our lives hang in the balance, science seems to know what is best for all of us.
Well, I have a lot of doubts in that department. We take chances every day with our lives and there seem to be so many bad salesmen out there telling us that we need to just take that leap of faith, that everything will be okay and that we have nothing to worry about.
We all hear from the confident that we have nothing to fret over as we approach that date of December 21st, 2012 and yet there are many people who are now doubting their faith. Some are starting to panic before any possible cause of a catastrophic event has taken place.
Panic buying of candles and essentials has been reported in China and Russia, along with an explosion in sales of survival shelters in the United States. In France, believers are preparing to converge on a mountain where they believe aliens will rescue them.
The precise manner of Armageddon remains vague, ranging from a catastrophic celestial collision between Earth and planet Nibiru – also known as Planet X – a disastrous crash with a comet or the annihilation of civilization by a giant solar storm.
There are also all kinds of other threats looming, from attacks on the power grid here in the United States to possible volcanic activity that could bring about three days of darkness.
We now know why the Chinese are buying candles.
I am realizing that while some may not be affected by the commotion and possible fears of a December 21st, 2012 event, there are others that are, and these fears and even hopes for some human transformation event may start to cloud the judgment of people and in the midst of this ancient psy-op we may all be behaving differently.
A week ago there was a story out of Russia about a NATO Ambassador from Serbia that was walking with his colleagues laughing and joking and then spontaneously leaped over the railing at a Brussels parking garage, committing suicide. The act was unprompted and fully spontaneous and shocked the men that were in his group.
Rumors have been all over the internet as to why Branislav Milinkovic leapt to his death the way he did. There are some that claim he had family problems, others say that he was diagnosed with cancer and still others believe that he was most concerned about events that he secretly knew about and could not handle.
There are rumored to be intelligence reports about the Syrian chemical and biological weapons threats, European fears of mass death on or after December 21st, 2012, and massive intelligence failures due to a possible shutdown of the power grid and the internet at the end of the year.
Whatever the reason, Branislav Milinkovic took a leap off a three-story parking garage and he did it “suddenly and without notice.”
NASA recently published a report about the cloud of doom associated with the apocalyptic predictions about the winter solstice. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration warns that 2012 Mayan apocalypse rumors pose a real-life threat to frightened children and depressive teenagers. Some say they can’t eat, or are too worried to sleep, while others say that they are suicidal, according to NASA astro-biologist David Morrison.
NASA has been scolding what they call junk scientists for creating unwarranted fear about Planet X or Nibiru coming into our solar system and destroying the earth in a frightening extinction level event.
It becomes necessary to point out that NASA is so quick to dispel any doomsday rumors pertaining to Nibiru and yet in the same breath scare people about doomsday scenarios with regard to global warming which can also be seen as some science fantasy or junk science.
It was reported that in New Zealand and Australia, Drs. Robert Salo and Joshua Wolf from the Royal Children’s Hospital in Victoria, Australia reported the first ever case of delusional behavior and suicidal thoughts based on global warming and climate change.
The patient refused to drink water because he felt it would have a negative impact on the planet. He believed that his very existence was a negative impact on the planet.
Now with all of the doom and gloom you can see why many people would want to commit suicide. The overwhelming thought of a doomsday can really be hell on a person’s psyche.
However, what if I told you that there is a man that is about to take another leap, what he calls a leap of faith based on hope? It is a leap that will either kill him, or enlighten the world to the possibility of an energy vortex in Sedona, Arizona. Peter Gersten, who is well known to most ufologists as a competent lawyer responsible for the release of several UFO files in the United States, is now seriously considering taking a leap of faith by jumping off of the mysterious Bell Rock in hopes of landing in the famed energy vortex that is alleged to be there.
Gersten writes:
Most of you will think that I am delusional and that my insane act will certainly result in my death. Death is inevitable – at least nowadays – and 100 years from now it won’t matter whether I died in 2012 or 2013 or even 2020. But I believe that some type of cosmic portal will be opening at that time and place and that an opportunity will present itself. I fully expect that it will either lead to the next level of this cosmic program; freedom from an imprisoning time-loop; a magical Martian-like bubble; or something equally as exotic. In March 2012 I will reach 70 years of age and nine months later we arrive at the cosmic coordinate. I think it will then be time for me to move on – in one form or another. I’d like to see what else our Cosmic Computer has to offer.”
There are less than a handful of journalists that have weighed in on Gersten’s decision. They have done so with a small amount of derision and comparing what he is doing to what happened when Marshall Applewhite and members of the Heaven’s Gate cult joined each other in a mass suicide, leaving behind video of why they were doing it. They all willingly wanted to leave this planet because they felt it was going to be spaded under by God and that they had a mission to join other beings on the evolutionary level above human. These beings were allegedly on a spaceship that was caught in the gravitational pull of comet Hale-Bopp.
Much of the excitement about the so called “companion” of comet Hale-Bopp was talked about on Coast to Coast AM with Art Bell. Many people may not recall that Bell was also given erroneous information from Courtney Brown about how the comet was going to kill us, and that it had a companion that gave precedent for many people, including Ed Dames and Richard Hoagland, a reason to speculate about what it might mean to the future of mankind.
When people are told that they may die, or perhaps that confidence is high that they will die because of some presented danger we may see human behaviors that defy logic.
I remember a fantastic documentary that was produced for PBS called “Faith and Doubt at Ground Zero.” The documentary dealt with how people had to deal with their faith in God or a higher power after an event as horrifying as the terror attacks of September 11th, 2011. In the first segment of the documentary there was an entire moment devoted to “a leap of faith” where there were scores of people leaping from the towers of the World trade center.
It was said that the people on the ground were transfixed staring up at the burning buildings because their inner dialogue perhaps was that of how they would face their own death or how would they deal with a catastrophe such as this. People just stood helpless watching people jump out of the towers and falling.
One man who snapped pictures of the airborne souls falling to the ground was Luca Babini. Luca had some interesting insights as to why these people leapt out of the building:
I mean, I’m sure that there is [sic] so many religious people asking themselves questions. Did they hear a voice? Did they hear a calling? Did they see a beautiful garden with rivers and lakes down there? Was their pain so much that some device that we don’t know about that we have inside ourselves – some spiritual device – just triggered on, and all of a sudden, it was heaven already before they jumped, and they were just jumping into something beautiful? Because I tell you, I could not do it. Something special must have been going on because a lot of them jumped.”
I guess this same type of speculation can be had for Peter Gersten. I can’t call it a descent into madness, or any other euphemism that can be construed as prejudiced, what I can only hope is that the inner dialogue of Gersten is full of peace and literally something that he truly feels is the best thing for him.
It may not be the best thing for his colleagues, family and friends that wonder why he is considering this as a leap for mankind understands of the mysterious rather than a suicide.
Gersten has made it very clear that this is a personal decision for him, and that he is not encouraging anyone else from doing something similar. When presented with this type of action as a reaction to core beliefs it is hard to have an objective viewpoint on just how complex life matters can be. It is hard to free ourselves of any moral judgment on matters such as these however it needs to be said that throughout history there have been men who have decided that the greater good and the greater knowledge are far more of a noble quest than the so called malignant curse of life and how we cling on to our mortal remains because of the experience the soul seems to want.
If Peter Gersten wishes to challenge the boundaries of this holographic universe he will be in good company. Many religions have been founded and new age movements been created based on legends of those who leapt from the bounds of this existence and have left behind a promise of renewal.
I mean, what is the Christmas season all about? It’s about remembering the birth of a child that grew to become a man who realized his divine nature – and also his responsibility to die in order to demonstrate that this existence is not the end of life but a new beginning of eternal life.
I am not comparing Gersten to Christ, but it may be an interesting footnote to contemplate why people make the decisions they do and what the outcome might create.
