Dr Stephen Cox on Military Response to UFO Activity

1. What inspired you to write your book Military Response to UFO Activity and could you go into your background with us?

We need the Government to release information regarding UFO’s, one of my good friends Richard Dolan is among the many Ufologist pushing to get UFO Disclosure from the government, I feel the need for this action, I also wrote this to help others who have witnessed UFO or been abducted to feel comfortable about reporting their case. It’s time the public knows what is really going on, the truth is out there and we will not give up until we find the truth.

My background with UFO’s started back in the early 70’s when I and a few other members of the crew witnessed a USO in the middle of the ocean, this thing travels at unspeakable speeds, we were order to not talk about this object and that we saw nothing. That started me investing UFO’s, I joined Mufon (Mutual UFO Network) in 2004 as an investigator for NY area, I worked as a dispatch member for Mufon, Joined their Rapid Response Team known as “STAR” and finally becoming the Chief Investigator for NY Mufon and the Assistant State Director for the Western NY Area. As the Chief Investigator I read every report which came into NY State, and assigned the cases to local investigator. Due to failing health my wife asked and I agreed I needed to slow down so I had to resign from Mufon, for now; hopefully I will resume my investigations with MUFON in a few years.

2. What happens when pilots in jets encounter UFOs according to your research?

Military pilots around the world will follow the same protocol that they would with any unidentified aircraft, they would request identification and intent of the aircraft, if no reply they would send up a couple of fighters to make contact, at that point if no contact is made the pilots would be given the order to down the unidentified aircraft.
Civilian pilots would also follow a protocol; if they see a strange object in their flight path they would contact the control tower that is covering that specific air space and ask if they see any aircraft on their radar. Most pilots will not make an official report of an unidentified aircraft due to the threat of losing their jobs.

3. Could you tell us about the UFO sighting that happened at a Washington D.C. conference?

I do not know of any UFO sighting that happened at the Washington DC Conference. The National Press Club held a conference of witness testimony of US Air Force and Other world government official to speak out regarding UFO’s and the need for Full Government Disclosure.

4. Would you tell us about some of these UFO engagements over Peru and Tehran?

There have been many sightings in Tehran and Peru over the years, I am working on a case that happen in the 1950’s, where a UFO is seen over the Capital building and over the Peruvian flag. But the biggest sighting to date is the Dogfight over Peru, Lieutenant Oscar Santa Maria Huertas engaged a UFO over Peruvian air space, Lieutenant Huertas fired up his jet in front of 1900 witnesses to engage the UFO, following protocol he was instructed to shoot the object out of the sky.

Tehran is another country who has seen their share of UFO activities but nothing as big as the UFO in 1976 over the capital of Iran where 2 F-4 jet fighters interceptors lost their weapon system when they tried to engage an Unidentified Flying Object. This incident is well documented with the U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), including the White House, Secretary of State, Joint Chiefs of Staff, National Security Agency (NSA) and the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), one of the best parts of this event is that several High Ranking Iranian military officers have gone on public record regarding this event.

5. So what do military officials around the world say about UFOs?

I don’t want to give too much away about the Military Response to UFO Activities, But there are thousands of military personnel both enlisted and officers who are or were willing to put their careers on the line just to let us know the truth about UFO’s. They are REAL and it is time the Government shares this information with the people of the world.

6. What is Project Twinkle exactly?

“Early in 1950 the Geophysics Research Division received a directive to investigate peculiar light phenomena that had been observed in the skies of the southwestern United States.  Project Twinkle was established to check into these phenomena and their explanation.

In accordance with instructions contained in a classified letter from Chief of Staff, USAF to CG, AMC, subject “Light Phenomena”, on 14 September 1949, Lt. Col. Frederic C.E. Oder of CRD attended a conference at Los Alamos, 14 October 19449 on the subject of “Green Fireballs” observed in the Northern New Mexico area.  Since the phenomena had been observed only in this area and only since 1947, it had caused considerable concern among security agencies in the area.  It was the conclusion of the scientists present at this meeting that the information available was not sufficiently quantitative  Instrumental observations – photographic, triangulation, and spectroscopic were considered essential.
Report Conclusions

Undoubtedly, a good many of the observations reported are attributable to ordinary man-made objects such as airplanes, balloons, smoke rockets, etc.  It appears that balloon observations especially are responsible for a large number or the reports.  The possibility of small emissive clouds issuing from atomic installations also has been proposed.
Note: The findings to date cannot be considered conclusive.

7. What can you tell us about the government creating weapons against aliens?

In one of its first major policy changes after coming into power in January 2001, the Bush administration signaled its intent to withdraw from the Anti-Ballistic Missile Defense Treaty with Russia. The ABM Treaty had been intended to prevent the deployment of weapons in space and enjoyed major international support since its ratification in 1972 by the Nixon administration.

In a May 2001 speech, President Bush argued that the 30 year old ABM Treaty was outdated and that the U.S. must formally move beyond its constraints to deal with new security threats:

We need a new framework that allows us to build missile defenses to counter the different threats of today’s world. To do so, we must move beyond the constraints of the 30-year-old ABM Treaty. This treaty does not recognize the present, or point us to the future. It enshrines the past. No treaty that prevents us from addressing today’s threats, that prohibits us from pursuing promising technology to defend ourselves, our friends and our allies is in our interests or in the interests of world peace.

The Bush administration gave its formal notice to withdraw on December 13, 2001, and promptly withdrew six months later.

In July 1999, the Clinton Administration passed the National Missile Defense Act calling for a more limited anti-ballistic missile system:

It is the policy of the United States to deploy as soon as is technologically possible an effective National Missile Defense system capable of defending the territory of the United States against limited ballistic missile attack (whether accidental, unauthorized, or deliberate) with funding subject to the annual authorization of appropriations and the annual appropriation of funds for National Missile Defense.

In May 2005, the US Air Force formally requested permission from the Bush administration for a national security directive so that it could “secure space to protect the nation from attack”. The Air Force request moves the Bush Administration closer to approving the weaponization of space and sparking an arms race in space with the US major strategic competitors, Russia and China. These developments towards deploying weapons in space received a surprising objection when a former Canadian Defense Minister addressed a UFO Conference in Toronto. He linked the deployment of space weapons not to possible ballistic missile attacks by rogue nations or terrorist groups, but as a means of targeting UFOs that were piloted by extraterrestrial visitors.

Researchers such as Dr David Jacobs (author of The Threat) believe the ‘Grays’ have a covert plan to take-over human society by engineering a superior hybrid race. On the other hand, researchers such as Dr John Mack (author of Passport to the Cosmos) believes the star visitors have a ‘transformative’ agenda designed to blend together the best characteristics of extraterrestrials and humanity.

8. What can you tell us about some of the Department of Defense memos you have revealed inside your book?

The memos and the documents that I have enclosed in my book “Military Response to UFO Activities” is nothing new, these documents have been around since the sightings occurred, but I included them to show how real these events are, and to show that the United States Government does not want us to know what is going on.

It is Ironic that the most powerful man in the world besides the Pope (the United States President who by the way is also the Commander and Chief of the most powerful military around the world) does not have the right to know about UFO or aliens. President Jimmy Carter tried to get all the information regarding UFO’s to be made public, the FBI and the CIA told the President that “UFO information is a need to know and just because you are the President DOES NOT give you the right to know. Who the heck is running our country, obviously it is not the president or the citizens of the United States.

9. Could you share some information with us you find of importance regarding Astronauts from your book?

Astronaut Cady Coleman, NASA Transmission – Shuttle Mission STS-73″Mission control, we have a UFO pacing our position, request instructions.”

Maurice Chatelain, Former Chief of NASA Communications Systems “All Apollo and Gemini flights were followed, both at a distance and sometimes also quite closely, by space vehicles of extraterrestrial origin – flying saucers, or UFOs, if you want to call them by that name. Every time it occurred, the astronauts informed Mission Control, who then ordered absolute silence.”

NASA Astronaut Scott Carpenter, “At no time, when the astronauts were in space were they alone: there was a constant surveillance by UFOs.” Carpenter photographed a UFO while in orbit on May 24, 1962. NASA still has not released the photograph.

I would like to say that Astronauts were not the only government officials stating claims to UFO’s.
J Edgar Hoover, Former Director of the FBI, “We must insist upon full access to discs recovered. In the LA case the Army grabbed it and would not let us have it for cursory examination.”
Lieutenant Colonel James McAshan, US Air Force, “In concealing the evidence of UFO operations, the Air Force is making a serious mistake.”

Captain Kervendal, French Gendarmerie, “Something is going on in the skies that we do not understand. If all the airline pilots and Air Force pilots who have seen UFOs – and sometimes chased them – have been the victims of hallucinations, then an awful lot of pilots should be taken off and forbidden to fly.”

Former US President Ronald Reagan, “I looked out the window and saw this white light. It was zigzagging around. I went up to the pilot and said, “Have you ever seen anything like that?” He was shocked and he said, “Nope.” And I said to him: “Let’s follow it!” We followed it for several minutes. It was a bright white light. We followed it to Bakersfield, and all of a sudden to our utter amazement it went straight up into the heavens. When I got off the plane I told Nancy all about it.”
Air Chief Marshall Lord Hugh Dowding, Commanding Officer of the Royal Air Force during WWII. “Of course UFOs are real, and they are interplanetary. The cumulative evidence for the existence of UFOs is quite overwhelming and I accept the fact of their existence.”

There are more but you will have to get a copy of the book “Military Response to UFO Activities” and read it for yourself.

10. What are you up to next book wise and also any links or departing words you would like to share?

My next book is at the publishers now waiting for approval it is called “End of an Era” it is a salute to NASA and the people who worked for NASA and the hard work they have accomplished over the last 50 years.

I also am working on a book called “Invasion of the Human Mind”, which covers abduction cased, and another book called “Is there Life Out There”, I have several more that I am working on most regarding UFO’s but there are other that just want to get the public information on special interest such as NASA “The End of an Era” and “The forgotten Hero” stories told by our veterans who served in Vietnam and it tells the story of how we were treated when we returned home and how our own government has turned their backs on our veterans just for following orders.
