JUMPS is the first group of paranormal researchers to investigate the recently-closed jail.
The group got first crack at working out corrections officers’ and inmates’ claims of paranormal activity.
The facility was more quiet than former corrections officer Tim McGuire had remembered. McGuire, now a member of JUMPS, worked at the jail in its heyday. He’s also had his own run-in with unexplained taps and clangs on the lower level of the building.
JUMPS investigators were aware of the possible hot spots in the jail: About a dozen suicides that occurred on the second and third floors, an overdose in a lower level holding cell and the 2003 accidental death of 32-year-old Lindenwold man Bernard King — a death that sparked controversy and prompted new jail policies.
