The Mohave County Miner (Mineral Park, Ariz.) August 26, 1883. The attached photos are several of many accounts from France that reported the unearthing of giant bones. The article reads,
“There was recently discovered in a coal mine in France, a cavern, in which were the petrified remains of four human beings, in an excellent state of preservation-a man, two women and a child. The man measured seven feet, the women six feet and the child about four. In another cavern were f…ound a number of other bodies of similar size, also curious implements, precious stones, etc. On the walls were drawings and strange hieroglyphics. This discovery, says the London Lancet, is one of the most remarkable that has yet been made, as it proves that prehistoric man is anything but a myth.”
Before theories were solidified and square pegs started to be pounded into round holes, these sorts of reports were prevalent. Tinged with anticipation and wonder, we often learn of giant skeletons and strange hieroglyphics from numerous sources often deep within the earth. Whether Europe, the U.S. or multiple other places, these reports are often remarkably similar using descriptions such as, “a remarkable state of preservation”, “curious implements”, and “strange hieroglyphics”. A giant mystery for sure.
