Drone Captures Supersonic UFO on Camera
Unfortunately, most UFO videos are either up close and blurry or far away and in high definition. This one falls into the second category and the object it shows is moving very fast.
YouTube user 1darmino uploaded the video on Saturday, March 7 and it’s been causing quite a stir. The video was caught by a DJI Inspire 1 drone hovering 80 meters (260 feet) above Silicon Valley, California. The 4 second clip shows a fast-moving white object in the upper left side of the screen.
The uploader mentioned that the video had not been tampered with.
I have no idea what this is, maybe a bug, hummingbird, reflection or alien space craft! The only thing I know for sure is that I did nothing that would cause this.”
Naturally, the video was met with mixed opinions. Some have called its authenticity into question, believing the object was computer generated. Others hinted that the whole thing might be a publicity stunt set up by the company that makes the drones. But what if it’s the real deal?
Let’s analyze it for a bit. Slowed down video:
Even though it was shot in 4K, the video doesn’t reveal much about the shape or size of the UFO. But it does show an object moving very fast. In fact, it appears to travel at a speed of around half a mile per second or 1,800 miles per hour. Anything moving 2.4 times faster than the speed of sound should create a sonic boom yet the object in the video is dead silent.
The vast majority of UFO reports mention supersonic crafts that move silently. That doesn’t necessarily mean this object is real, it just shows that this particular UFO is on par with the rest of the sightings.
So what could it be? A bullet? That one in a million lens flare that appears to travel in a straight line and increases in size as it gets closer? Secret military aircraft?
At this point, it’s anyone’s guess.
