Politics, Prophecy & the Supernatural Sunday Bun by L. A. Marzulli If you think you know who Jesus is but you don’t know him, you don’t know him…. L. A. Marzulli 2015
I spoke at CERO last week and we had a good crowd. Most of these folks who came have experienced the UFO phenomena up close and personal. They attend these meeting because there is a camaraderie there, as others have been through what they have been through. They can talk openly about UFO sightings, or being abducted, probed, experimented on and whisked away, against their will, at all times of the day and night.
I was speaking to a man who told me I was a good showman. I replied to him that there was no show, what I expressed in my presentation was from my core values, my worldview, the paradigm I embrace. He then asked me if I was a Christian and believed in the Christian mythos, and not missing a beat challenged me stating, if he didn’t believe in Jesus would he then be going to hell?
It’s an old argument and the other side uses it to make those of us who believe in the Biblical narrative seem foolish and petty and worse of all judgmental.
I replied by saying this to the man: If you think you know who Jesus is but you don’t know him, you don’t know him!
My statement stunned him and then I was able to talk about the depravity of human beings i.e. our sin.
When we step back and look at this simple statement—If you think you know who Jesus is but you don’t know him, you don’t know him!—it is true. Here’s what I mean.
We can say we know how a car runs but unless we understand what a combustion engine is and how it works we really don’t know how the car runs.
In a similar way, there’s a lot of people out there who think they know who Yeshua/Jesus is but in reality they don’t have a clue, as they don’t know him. They have no idea of who He is and in many cases they have never read the Biblical narrative—the Gospels—which describes all the amazing things He did while he walked with us almost 2000 years ago. They have no personal relationship with Him.
On top of that, they have never come to grips with their own depravity, their sin, the nasty stuff we all do. They think they have no need of a savior and so have never asked the King of Creation into their hearts to heal them, to take the pain away, to restore their souls. Thus, they don’t know him, they are not born from above and so don’t have a clue of who He is and unless they come to Him they will in fact, die in their sins.
Are you one of those people? Do you think He is reflected by some of the hucksters on so-called Christian TV, promising riches for a seed-faith offering? Do you think he was a ruse from Satan to deceive the Jews into believing in a false Messiah, as many Jews are taught today? Do you think he is somehow likened to the current Pope? Do you believe He was just a good man? Do you equate him with something horrible that happened to you when you were in Sunday school and perhaps you were molested by your pastor, teacher or Youth group leader?
He is none of those things. He gave up His life to redeem us and He stands at the door or your heart and knocks. If you think you know Him but you don’t, you are missing on experinecing life more abundantly…that will continue eternally. He loves you and knows you better than you know yourself. Yet, if you don’t know Him, you don’t know Him.
16“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.17“For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.… John 3: 16
He is standing at the door of your heart and waiting for you to invite Him to come in…. Ask Him to forgive your nasty things, your sins and then confess with your mouth that He is who He says He is, The son of the Living God. If you do this, then you will know Him.
