A couple of my school friends found an ancient burial mound on the side of a hill, near Phoenix, that contained a silver-studded saddle and a skull. I was very wary about the find and warned the others that they’d better leave it alone. I just didn’t feel it was right to mess around with a grave. One of my friends decided to take the skull and the saddle home with him.
A couple of days later, one of my friends who had gone on the expedition got a call from the guy who took the artifacts asking him if he’d like the skull. Apparently his dad didn’t want the grisly item in his house. You also have to remember that skulls were hot items back in the late 1950’s for decoration and, of course, as candle holders. My friend accepted the skull, collected it and after school he put it on top of the refrigerator in the kitchen and went to work at his part-time job.
Later that night, his father came home from work and as he was getting ready to unlock the kitchen door, he heard a deep male voice talking from inside the house. He knew his son was at work, so he cautiously unlocked the door.
