“From 1991-2001 I extensively studied UFO abductees eventually writing both my Master’s Thesis and Ph.D. dissertation about aspects of the experiential and narrative phenomena. This academic work came out of a lifetime of lived paranormal experiences, including sporadic non-human contact. I’ve interviewed close to 450 separate abductees, including a rather large percentage of African-American abductees who, for the most part, have been largely ignored by the mass narrative of abduction and contact.
I found two things: first, like the late Karla Turner, there are many more variations in the actual experience of alien abduction than the mass UFO conspiracy media would have us believe. My dissertation pretty definitively proves that Budd Hopkins was reaching for easy solutions and, despite his sincerity, was basically wrong about the universality of many features in the abduction account.
Secondly, I discovered that there are many accounts of intelligences/aliens/whatever that could fit into the category of ‘reptilian’ that simply don’t match what has become a common negative trope, or stereotype, about ‘reptilian aliens.’
In fact, one bit of salient information that I’ve both researched and experienced (because I’m both a scholar of these things and an experiencer…which is not something one advertises in academic communities) is that some intelligences appear to be reptilian to humans because that is a frame of reference for us. This is rather like what Keven Spacey’s character in K-Pax explains to his “therapist,” played by Jeff Bridges. K-Pax explains that he appears as a human on earth because those are the physical parameters available for consciousnesses like himself.
I’ve personally experienced and been in periodic contact with an intelligence that appears to me like a flying serpent (so how stereotypical is that?…almost embarrassing to admit). When contact was first made I really questioned the energies because I know the “lore” too. I became aware of the fact that this entity is “caught” in Earth energy due to very complicated dynamics which occurred in what we call ‘the past’ and it’s simply waiting, spiritually developing and ascending in its own terms, until such time as it can return to its natural realm and state.
It told me that it doesn’t actually have what we would call a form at all, but appears to us as a flying serpent because that’s the only way we can process its energy signature…”you are highly visual after all”…was the gist of it.
Interestingly enough, this corresponded exactly with information that I had gotten via interview with several abductees who reported to me very positive and non-invasive, non-manipulative encounters with beings to appeared reptilian to them. Their opinion was that, while there might be some negative reptilians (just like there are many negative humans), our response to aliens of whatever stripe is probably due more to human presumptions and knee jerk reactions than anything else. Humans tend to not like snakes or reptiles generally…unless they’re dead dinosaurs in a museum…so we react accordingly.
I’ve gotten mixed response from the UFO contact/abductee community..with some people warning me that I’m being fooled. I don’t think I am…seriously. My own spiritual practice keeps me constantly ‘testing the spirits’ as they say…and I guess I’m not naturally too paranoid.
