The 5000 year erosion time always given as the new science is incorrect. This is because the erosion occurred as a result of the Great Flood not as rain in a past tropical climate. the model would thus need to be extensively revised to take into account this much shorter period of time. we all know the egyptians didn’t build them not counting those with their head in the egyptian sand…. they too are like the sphynx….unchanging except by way of a massive cold shower.
What you mean they don’t know how old it is and yet know that the universe is 14bn years old, get out of here.

Man is not as smart as he likes to think he is and a lot of science is speculation and if you are in the field
then just go along with it or soon find yourself out of a job.
Natural rock formations are the more likely the answer. Ground penetration tech. is not as accurate as many suppose. The Oak Island saga shows us that. It is plausible that the climate was less harsh in antiquity. Climate has a profound affect on civilization . It is doubtful that Egypt would have grown as a culture in that sand box that it is today.
