Top 10 Nonfiction Books for Para Geeks

This is a more personal top 10 list since these are the top 10 nonfiction books I don't want to be without and that I have read numerous times.
Mind you, I am a geek at heart and nonfiction is my favorite genre, especially research, but these books were just pure thrilling to read. I refer to them often, but also re-read them front to back.
1. Proof of Heaven by Eben Alexander. The most life-changing book I ever read. The perspective was in alignment with what I have always suspected about near-death experiences and the “other side.”
2. Hunt for the Skinwalker by Colm A Kelleher, PhD, and George Knapp. Riveting and perhaps too exceptional account of a portal-like situation in NE Utah. This is a do not read too late or you might not sleep book and I love that at the end, they list all the possible explanations and go through the pro's and con's of each. It's just a fabulous and chilling read!
3. The Ancient Giants Who Ruled America: The Missing Skeletons and the Great Smithsonian Cover-up by Richard Dewhurst. I can only say that if you are slightly interested in giants you will not put this down and if you are seriously into ancient giants, you will be floored by the research and info inside.
4. The Natural and Aboriginal History of Tennessee by John Haywood. I have littered this book with dog-earring and highlighting to the point that there is little not marked. It is the most shocking and very old (1768) account of the things dug up in Tennessee including a race of little people and giants.
5. Weird USA by Mark Moran and Mark Sceurman. This book goes from state to state uncovering the oddities, the legends, the myths, the monsters, and ghosts. It is quirky, amazing, and you will never look at your state the same way again.
6. Confessions of a Feng Shui Ghost-Buster by Anna Maria Prezzio. This book was really enlightening about how energy flows in a home and what to do to avoid “negative” energy or energy traps in a building. It had me rethinking how I help those affected by haunted homes and the effects have been quite stunning.
7. Real Wolfmen: True Encounters in Modern America by Linda Godfrey. Linda is the expert on werewolves, wolfmen, dogmen, or whatever you want to call these unsettling creatures. Her book is an easy ready, and so deeply disturbing and unsettling that you will want to keep the lamp on all night for this one.
8. Encounters With Flying Humanoids: Mothman, Manbirds, Gargoyles, and Other Winged Beasts by Ken Gerhard. Ken has made himself an expert on those crazy things in the sky of the critter, cryptid, and paranormal variety. His book is an intense read and the encounters reported are chilling. I don't think I'll ever look at the sky quite the same way. I find myself both drawn to see if anything is there, and afraid there might be!
9. Men in Black: Personal Stories and Eerie Adventures by Nick Redfern. For those who love the mystery of UFOs, aliens, the government, cover-ups and the notorious men in black, this book is a keeper. Nick is very well studied in his research of such subjects and always wields a fair hand when presenting it.
10. Giants on Record: America's Hidden History, Secrets in the Mounds, and the Smithsonian Files by Jim Vieira and Hugh Newman. I admit, I was hooked on their work on the show “Search For the Lost Giants” on History Channel. I have a huge respect for these men's desire t get the word out, expose the original occupants of the Americas and to shine a light on the cover-up with great research. This is seriously a para geek's keeper.
