Marzulli The Mysteries of God And when the seven thunders had sounded, I was about to write, but I heard a voice from heaven saying, “Seal up what the seven thunders have said, and do not write it down. And the angel whom I saw standing on the sea and on the land raised his right hand to heaven and swore by him who lives forever and ever, who created heaven and what is in it, the earth and what is in it, and the sea and what is in it, that there would be no more delay, but that in the days of the trumpet call to be sounded by the seventh angel, the mystery of God would be fulfilled, just as he announced to his servants the prophets. Revelation 10:4-7
This passage of scripture is pregnant with meaning. It reveals to us the supernatural world on steroids. It informs us of the future and who it belongs to, The King of King and Lord of Lords, Yeshua/Jesus.
The back-story is this. John is on the island of Patmos and he has been taken into the heavenly scene where he is being shown the future. What an incredible honor. Can you imagine?
He has heard what the seven thunders have said but just as he is about to write it down he told not to! It’s places like this in the Bible that really pique my interest and I can only wonder as to what John was told to omit from the Biblical prophetic narrative. There are words that John heard which perhaps because of their severity he was not able to write down. I wonder if he thought about those omitted words after his vision of the future ended and he was back on the island of Patmos. He carried that “secret” around with him the rest of his life, knowing that he could not share it with anyone.
There is language here in this passage which is incredible:
And the angel whom I saw standing on the sea and on the land raised his right hand to heaven and swore by him who lives forever and ever, who created heaven and what is in it, the earth and what is in it, and the sea and what is in it,
We see here that an angel, a messenger from The Most High God, raises his right hand and with that gesture he swears by Him who lives forever and ever. Can you imagine hearing this? It is a statement made by one of The Most High God’s creations that informs us that the God we serve is without beginning or end and that he lives forever and ever. Then he goes on to tell us that He created the heavens and all that is in it as well as the earth and sea.
This is a testimony that the flies in the face of Darwinism.
The fool has said in his heart, there is no god!
This “revelation” by the angel points to a creator, one who is The Ancient of Days, one who will judge the living and dead, one who holds the keys of life and death. With the blowing of the seventh trumpet the mystery of God will be fulfilled, just like He told His prophets it would be. What is this mystery? At some point we will find out!
As we move forward through space and time we are closer to seeing the fulfillment of these prophetic words. While it is future it may be closer than any of us think.
