Late in 2014, Japanese toy maker Bandai released a new wave of virtual pets, known as Tamagotchi. Now in 2016, their long-life lithium batteries are beginning to run down. Unfortunately, when the Tamagotchi was first released in 1996, it had an unsual side effect when it died. The loss of it sometimes caused its owner to commit suicide. Click above for video.
