Rare Full Blue Moon May 21st Associated With Odd or Insane Behavior (Video)

The Moon will reach full phase – a full moon which will also be a Blue Moon on May 21-22 2016 at 00 16 EEST 21 16 UTC

Since ancient times, full moons have been associated with odd or insane behavior, including sleepwalking, suicide, illegal activity, fits of violence and, of course, transforming into werewolves.

Indeed, the words “lunacy” and “lunatic” come from the Roman goddess of the moon, Luna, who was said to ride her silver chariot across the dark sky each night. For thousands of years, doctors and mental health professionals believed in a strong connection between mania and the moon.

Hippocrates, considered the father of modern medicine, wrote in the fifth century B.C. that “one who is seized with terror, fright and madness during the night is being visited by the goddess of the moon.”

In 18th-century England, people on trial for murder could campaign for a lighter sentence on grounds of lunacy if the crime occurred under a full moon; meanwhile, psychiatric patients at London’s Bethlehem Hospital were shackled and flogged as a preventive measure during certain lunar phases.

Even today, despite studies discrediting the hypothesis, some people think full moons make everyone a little loony.

  • Very cool video

  • Please accept Jesus/Yeshua into your heart. Time is short. Dear God in heaven, I come to you in the name of Jesus. I acknowledge to You that I am a sinner, and I am sorry for my sins and the life that I have lived; I need your forgiveness. I believe that your only begotten Son Jesus Christ shed His precious blood on the cross at Calvary and died for my sins, and I am now willing to turn from my sin. You said in Your Holy Word, Romans 10:9 that if we confess the Lord our God and believe in our hearts that God raised Jesus from the dead, we shall be saved. Right now I confess Jesus as the Lord of my soul. With my heart, I believe that God raised Jesus from the dead. This very moment I accept Jesus Christ as my own personal Savior and according to His Word, right now I am saved. Thank you Jesus for your unlimited grace which has saved me from my sins. I thank you Jesus that your grace never leads to license, but rather it always leads to repentance. Therefore Lord Jesus transform my life so that I may bring glory and honor to you alone and not to myself. Thank you Jesus for dying for me and giving me eternal life. so shall it be!

  • Blue Moons are neither ‘blue’ nor rare.

And this one (the 21st of May) doesn’t fit the classical description. Either a 4th full moon within a season (it’s only the 3rd Spring Full Moon), or a second Full Moon in a month (That would have been the January 2016 Blue Moon).

Swatted again by the fact, there Jeffery. DO some research before you just cut-and-paste.

    • I took the time to watch the video, and beside the dreadful techno soundtrack (bonus points for following the #1 Bad Video Golden Rule), all you did was transcribe [or rather copy and paste] the sentences that accompanied each slide transition!?!?!?! WTF Jeffrey, what actual work did you put into plagiarizing somebody else work?

And there is NOTHING in the video about a Blue Moon, as it is known scientifically.

Got to give you one of these [Ba bum bum bummmmmmm].

      • This is from a blog whose owner I know and who is in my large network of listeners and guests for my radio show. Said blog has also posted some of my article before. False accusations look bad on you rat baby lips. Might I also recommend more fiber in your diet?

        • Only false accusation is in YOUR title:

Rare Full Blue Moon May 21st Associated With Odd or Insane Behavior (Video)

So which is it, Rare or Blue? The video documents odd behaviors associated with all full moons, and how they were historically handled, but says nothing about a Blue Moon [which has a very specific astrological meaning, that I spelled out earlier]

At least you gave credit, so plagiarize might have been too harsh, but the larger question really was, “What exactly did YOU do for this ‘article’?” But that’s the pattern I’ve noticed with most of your ‘work’.

Does an occasional donut count as fiber? [OHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!, Nice way to work in a reference to another conversation. + 3.892 Super Secret Bonus Points]

          • Last I looked you aren’t on staff here so you can go bugger a pusstoot. It must be your fantasy to work for BIN one day though from what I can tell. Good luck with that.

        • Here, this is some real research on a Blue Moon (and yes, it does list the 21st Blue Moon – but for the wrong reasons, which are spelled out in the article). Feel free to copy and paste.

          http://earthsky.org/space/when-is-the-next-blue-moon

  • Since the Full Moon arrives on the 21st of the month, it CANNOT be a “BLUE MOON”!!

a “BLUE MOON” is the SECOND FULL MONTH IN A CALENDAR MONTH!!

There are no “BLUE MOONS” in the calendar year 2016.
In September, there are two “NEW MOONS”.
