A mysterious light was spotted streaking across the Southern California sky on Wednesday, sending social media into a frenzy.
Varying explanations were given at first after the slow moving fireball was spotted across the western U.S. and exploded into several pieces.
But the official Twitter account of the National Weather Service out of Salt Lake City stated that the light was caused by “space junk.”
McDowell later said multiple agencies confirmed the light was caused by the Chang Zheng 7 rocket.
Several ABC7 viewers took to social media and shared their photos and videos using #abc7eyewitness.

SPACE JUNK………60s/70s/80s satellites falling out of orbit back into atmosphere…….
They DONT tell us, most have TRGs ~ Thermo Radiactive Generators (nuclear )….the FALLOUT begins…….
Spaceweather.com says it is a Chinese rocket.
Did it send the snowflake generation in safe rooms?
It very well could be space junk. But it would be stupid to reach that conclusion based solely on info provided by the morons and liars at SpaceWeather, Smithsonian or any other “official” channels. On these important topics, I will do my own research, thank you very much.
