Sunday Go to Meeting Bun!

(Before It's News)

Politics, Prophecy & the Supernatural The Bun! I have come in my Father’s name, and you do not receive me. If another comes in his own name, you will receive him. John 5:43

There are many different interpretations of this verse. Let’s examine it and see what we can glean from it.

First, Jesus is making a statement, stating a fact. He tells the Jewish leaders, the Pharisees who are gathered and asking Him who he is, that He, Jesus, comes in His Fathers name, i.e. Jehovah.

Remember this, Jesus—Yeshua—means God with us. Interesting yes? We might call to remembrance when Jesus states:  He is from above. Also: Where I am going you can not follow. (At the last supper) Then: If you have seen me you have seen the Father.

It seems very clear that Jesus is making himself known to anyone who has ears to hear. He’s not playing games. In fact,  He backs these statements up by performing miracles, like raising the dead, healing the sick, casting out demons and controlling the weather—the storm He rebukes in the boat!

Then He states the second fact: … and you do not receive me.

I am reminded of this statement by what Phillip says in regard to Jesus being Messiah: Can anything good come out of Nazareth?

The Jewish leaders could not accept Jesus as Messiah. The one statement that infuriated the Jews was when Jesus declared: Before Abraham was I Am.

This is what got Him killed, because Jesus compared himself to the Father by using the word I Am. It was deliberate on His part and once again He states a fact.

Finally we get to the last statement.

If another comes in his own name, you will receive him.

Some commentators point to this verse as the Anti-Christ. While the Jews have had numerous deceivers and anti-messiahs’ throughout history, I would posit that this verse may point to THE seed of the serpent, the son of perdition, the anti-christ of the last days.

Remember, This man makes a covenant with the Jews to rebuild their Temple. This is how the world will know who the A.C. is. (Of course I hold to the view that the church will be long-gone by this time.)

If this is true that Jesus is pointing to the A.C. as the one who the Jews will receive it is a chilling statement.

In closing the Bun. Do you know Him? Is He, Jesus alive in your heart? Have you invited the Prince of Peace into your life?

If you think you know Him but you don’t know Him, then, you don’t know Him.

Jesus fulfilled numerous prophecies regarding Messiah. When we acknowledge Him who was sent—that He came in His fathers name—and confess our sins we have eternal life. We become born again. If you don’t know Him, I would ask you to sit still for a moment and reflect on todays Bun.

He stands at the door of your heart and knocks, let Him in today…
