(Before It's News)

The recent exposure of possible improprieties in the handling of aborted fetal tissue at Planned Parenthood facilities has opened wide the discussion of why this type of tissue is atill necessary in medial research.

While lab-manufactured stem cells have been a viable substitute in research of certain diseases, there are still other areas of medical research study where actual fetal tissue remains are essential to the project.

birth defects
spinal cord injuries
Parkinson’s disease
eye diseases
vaccines and treatments for HIV/AIDS
multiple myeloma or ALS

There are other non-medical research areas where the use of fetal tissue continues to be necessary for the products being manufactured.
